Not too bad, heās in the final year of his contract, correct? He was excellent last season and really seemed to have settled so it is a loss but on the other hand he had a few iffy moments tonight and in the first leg so there was no guarantee he wouldnāt have reverted to type on his first season.
We have no divine right to beat the Swedish champions so delighted with that result, though the performance was poor. Not sure it was much worse than our qualifying efforts last year and would have been different it Sammy and Ledley had taken their chances.
Based solely on tonight Iād be happy to see Wilson go. He was easily outplayed by Bangura and had no answer to him dropping off. Heās good sweeping usually but he looked clueless against someone dropping off him tonight, and was no better against Keene.
Never managed to get any sustained possession, formation didnāt help (and in wouldnāt have changed it) but Samaras and Commons offered nothing really in contesting possession against their defenders. We didnāt seem comfortable passing it in midfield and struggled to get anyone other than Forrest involved in their half. He wasnāt great but he probably had more relevant touches than Samaras, Commons and Mulgrew combined.

Ambrose really needs to sold. Heās a botton.[/quote]
Think youāre correct on his contract but we might have had a yearās option. Really unimpressed with him tonight though. I was happy heās leaving by full time. Does he need replacing though? Mulgrew and Van Dijk should be first choice centre backs with Ambrose and Mouyokolo as cover.
Guys, you canāt justify selling him based on tonightās match when he knew he was leaving anyway. He was very good last season and will definitely be a miss.
Out of jailā¦but thatās football, the pitch certainly didnāt help and Lustig probably let out what was said in the dressing roomā¦they were dreadful! ā¦ that said, weāre in Fridayās draw.
Jaysus Rudi, you cant blame Lennon for the inability of most Celtic players, bar Forrest and Stokes, although only on for a few mins (although should have been on from the start), to deal with the pitch.
Thought Hartson and Bonner were nothing less than refreshing on BBCā¦certainly beats any other analysis Ive heard when it comes to Celtic.
The Dublin 1916 Society are holding a 1916 walking tour on the morning of the Celtic v Liverpool game. This is aimed at those traveling to Dublin from afar for the game from places like Glasgow and Belfast and is open to all native Dubs also.
It would be given by Dublin IRA veteran Noel Hughes. Noel took a few bullets on active service in Tyrone, 1973. He is sharp as a blade and is more than willing to do tours for us.
Some recordings of him today; 77 years old and heās still on the ball!
Yeah my comment was tongue-in-cheek. He certainly improved last season and we havenāt had a good track record with centre backs so itās disappointing to lose anyone whoās halfway competent.
He was poor tonight though, probably a mixture of his decision to move already and their style of play not really suiting him. I donāt think heās ideally suited to playing alongside Ambrose anyway. He likes to sweep in behind, but he needs a predictable (even if slow) partner to play behind in that case. Ambrose is liable to do anything at any time and that makes it very difficult to play alongside him. Celtic were ridiculously deep tonight (Iāve blamed Foster for how deep that defensive line is in the past but it looked like the defenders who opted for that this evening) and Wilson isnāt comfortable in moving forward with his man if he drops off. Thatās a big weakness, in that heās the āmobileā type of centre back but heās only effective when covering behind, he looks unsure of himself when he has to push forward, or out to the flanks.
Anyway in an ideal world weād keep him but if we get a couple of million for him and heās determined to go then heās not a massive loss. I do think itās weird to be āhomesickā when moving to Glasgow from Nottingham though. Weirdo.

Wilson has a young daughter in Nottingham,he is separated from the girls mother and that is why they arent in Glasgow. moving to Nottingham is to be close to his daughter
