Cheltenham-Early thoughts

How the fuck is Zanahiyr still 11/4.

I’m already on a 4 figure cash out and not even close to considering it.

Saint Sam 136 in Ireland.

Nicholls is also worth watching for this.

Yep he usually lines a few up for it.

Savage record.

Imo Saint Sam will go very short. Very fair price nrnb . Could easily go Fairyhouse as well tbf.

They ran him the last day to protect its mark but backfired imho.

Kilcruit 6/4 now

Era 136 is fair enough.

He will be 141 in uk imho

He might still take all the beating off that mark.

Maybe. I’d a good look at it there. Joseph’s horse running so close to Zanahiyr at Christmas gives him a good chance to hammer Saint Sam in fairness. I’d say it’s unlikely there’ll be a better horse in the race in fairness.

Defi Du Seuil Scratched from the festival.

I’d a bet on hook up for the mares novice hurdle @ 12s.

People are talking about appreciate it, ballyadam and blue Lord for grade ones and hook up wasn’t far off them on Sunday. She badly needs to improve on her jumping but she’ll be running in a much weaker race and has Cheltenham Experience unlike so many of the others that’ll line up in this race. Willie done something similar concertista last season brining her along steadily to peak at Cheltenham and I think hook up could be a similar profile if not as classy.

I’d love to know how people who don’t love racing get through January and February.

I think one of the most intriguing horses heading to Cheltenham is Gavin cromwells alpha mix.

He was beaten by 7 lengths in the coral cup which was a strong piece of form. He was rated 142 and was a big drifter on the day. He forced the pace and the other Jp gambled on horse won it easy. All his best runs over hurdlers were when he was held up behind the leaders and pounced late over 2 and half.

To my eyes this term the horse has been blatantly pulled on his 3 chase runs over 2 miles. He has given rprs of 113, 96 and 121 beaten nearly a combined 100 lengths in the 3 races behind Aramax, captain Guiness and Blackbow. His last run was Hilarious.

Even funnier is the fact the Irish handicapper has conjured up a mark of 135 over fences for him. Now I don’t know what the English handicapper will do with him he could Give him 120 or 150 but it’ll be interesting.

I see he’s 20/1 for the 2 and a half mile handicap which is fair. That race tends to suit horses who are handy so it’s right up his street.
