“We ask Luke O Neill and Christy Dignam for their thoughts”

Prof O’Neill will now simulate a slap to the face area of Christy in response to a hypothetical slur the finglas born singer made about the professor’s wife (a corporate lawyer with a full head of hair)

TFK was ahead of the curve, as always. We’d written off this programme as tabloid style trash after the first show or two. But a couple of years later, it’s even become a topic for mocking/derision within the “You, Sir, have won the Internet today” demographic (cc @Spidey). The type of people that think Gav Reilly, Richard Chambers and Zara King are complete sounders etc etc (cc @Arthur).

I’m not sure if this colony will make it, a few larvae, a dozen or so eggs and not many bees flying. Ill be disappointed tbh.
Prayers please.

Thoughts and prayers @glenshane. Even though i got stung by a bee last week. And it didnt die afterwards either.

They only die if the sting goes deep enough for rhe barb to stick in your skin. If it does then the bee tears the stinger out of itself… There’s a gland or sac that contains the poison- it keeps pumping out venom even after the bee has left the scene
Sometimes the bee will use the last of its energy to fly round and head butt you. Tenacious wee buggers.

You probably had the stinger stuck in you skin. Was this a bumble bee or a honey bee?

The giant big fat fucker. Honey i think.

No.

Hard lines, pal.

Buzzin’, stingin’ cunts.

Welt still visible 9 days later.

'Tis no joke.

Some years ago I was sitting on a railing and one of them flew up the leg of my trousers and struck just south of the corduroy end of my sack.

Not fun.

That’s your common garden bumble bee. A honey bee is about the size of a wasp and unlikely to sting unless you mess with her abode. Shame to see them blackguarded like this
