*Iā€™ll. Are any of ye even semi-literate?

Assume with people being routed to buy from tickets.ie and not from individual clubs/county boards the days of the each county having an assigned terrace or areas of a stand populated with fans from one county will pretty much disappear

And amen to that . Better banter and arguments during games .

What is it with Clare hurling supporters and being totally obsessed with pace? Iā€™ve talked to a few recently and all of them started going on about how such-and-such lacks pace, or about how another fella should start because heā€™s got great pace.

It definitely seems to be something Clare supporters talk more about than the average.

Donā€™t get me wrong, pace is important and ideally you donā€™t want a carthorse but at the end of the day, itā€™s a hurling team not a team of sprinters.

(I do realise I am using limited anecdotal evidence to tar an entire county)

Did u see their full back line v Limerick in the league on a damp sod ? Imagine what could ensue on hard ground .

I see Meehan did the business again for the minor footballers the other night when landing two beauties near the end to seal the deal v Tipp in the semi final.

They play Kerry in the final on Saturday 23rd June before the Munster senior football final.

Looks a decent prospect

Vibes out of the camp appear to be very good leading into this weekend. Management have been saying for six months that everything is geared for championship and morale appears to be good and players are finding form at the right time. They need to back it up with a performance on Sunday now. I am quietly confident that they can get the win and would be even more confident if Cadogan doesnā€™t start at corner forward.

Aside from Podge being out and Oā€™Donnell carrying a knock everyone else who was available in the spring is available. From 8 to 15 the team pretty much picks itself, Darragh Corry may well see action off the bench this week or next as he is showing well and has been starting challenge matches in Oā€™Donnellā€™s absence and done well.

Cleary and David Mc are nailed on starters in the backs. Cleary will be centre back and David Mc in the full backline but could be corner or full back depending on match ups. After that there are seven lads pushing for the other four spots and it could go any way and I would expect a bit of horses for courses decisions depending on opponents/match ups. Talks that Jason McCarthy is pushing hard for a start on Sunday.

Podge being out is a blessing in disguise, a one season wonder who is finished and now not related to an inter county hurler. Yeā€™d be better off if Jack Browne tweaked a hamstring too, surely better there than him. I reckon yeā€™ll beat Cork on Sunday if Oā€™Donnell makes it

Clare at 5/4 look a great bet imo. I just donā€™t rate Cadogan as a full back, he was vulnerable there five years ago never mind now. Would expect McGrath and that Clare inside line to do damage.

Conor McGrath done untold versus wexford recently in a challenge Iā€™m told.

13/8 now pal!

Brown-David Mc-McCarthy
Oā€™Connor-Cleary-Fitzgerald
Kelly-Galvin
Malone-Conlon-Reidy
Oā€™Donnell-Duggan-McGrath

Itā€™s easy to pick out individuals to put a bet on.
You are not wrong are out Cadogan.

But Cork have 2 corner backs now turning into specialists that they have not had a for an age.

But Clareā€™s half back and half forwards look mis-matched to Cork athletically.

Ultimately Cork are hugely reliant on the shackling if Harnedy and Fitzgibbon, the interest of Horgan and the mood of Lehane. All 4 of those wonā€™t happen on the same say for 4 days in 5 weeks I would suggest.

I would be less concerned about beating Cadogan (as any of the hat Clare FF line will do it) and more concerned about quite ming those 4 and getting 50-50 possession. Get that and Clare win.

I think it would be madness to predict this game. Both teams have massive question marks over them.

Football team named for the Limerick game. Change of keeper a bit surprising, the managerā€™s nephew getting in certainly would be. Talk of Ciaran Russell having walked from the panel in recent weeks too, heā€™s had a difficult enough relationship with Collins over the years, but heā€™s a loss all the same.

CLARE: Eamon Tubridy; Gordon Kelly, Cillian Brennan, Eoghan Collins; Pearse Lillis, Aaron Fitzgerald, Cian Oā€™Dea; Gary Brennan, Cathal Oā€™Connor; Kieran Malone, Eoin Cleary, Jamie Malone; Eibhin Courtney, Keelan Sexton, David Tubridy.

No surprises in personnelā€¦ Few changes to the way the defence lines out maybe?

Oā€™Connor and Cleary will both start in the half backline

Named at corner forward for the minor hurlers for Sunday
