he player at 6 in the intermediate game v Cork and the Cork 11 (very tidy looking player) destroyed him for pace. I think his only chance of making it inter county is at 12 or 10
Donal Og Cusack observed re McDonald recently that an extra yard of pace would make him unstoppable. He further went on to say that it used to be said that you canât coach pace, which, he said, was nonsense, of course you can. Shanahan looks an excellent intercounty prospect.
Would ya go away and shite. Your team got ruined last night and were reduced to cheap shots. Your initial reaction wasnât to congratulate the Clare team on their supreme display, it was to say in a mealy mouthed way that the reason Cork lost was their manager. It was on their hole. A management team of JBM, Cody, Liam Griffin wouldnât have saved you from one of the best U21 teams ever. When called on it youâve a cut off Dublin hurling bizarrely and now youâre trying to weasel out of the benevolence of the Irish state to the outstretched hands of Cork GAA by claiming youâre against it. Pitiful.
Youâre a good man for a review of a Limerick chipper though.
that is some clamping

He is made to play as a wing back. Too slow and the wrong type to play as a midfielder for the seniors and needs space as a WF. We could do with better/more consistent fielders at 5 and 7.
he is a beautiful striker, he struggled as a minor at 6, struggled there again last month. Fielding is not his strong point. Saying he is made to play WB is a bit of a overstatement IMO. I think Conor Cleary is made for WB (needs to improve his stick work which can definitely be coached) and also perhaps David McnInerney if Jack Browne gets the time he needs
I would have thought Cleary is the man for centre back with Conor Ryan and another as wing backs. Shanahan would suit in a line like that and his ball playing ability would be such an asset. Leave Davy Mc where he is with Dillon, physical and mobile fullback/cornerbacks donât come around too often and he knows how to play back there. Add in one of Browne/Donovan(it wouldnât surprise me if Davy drops him for the fuck of it)/Flanagan and Colleran behind that half back line and itâs a far more solid set up with much fewer weak points.
Limerick and Clare are set to dominate Hurling for the next decade!!
Morey might be worth a punt at wing back with Cleary in the middle and Ryan on the wing. A nice mix
Morey instead of Pat OâConnor?? why on earth would you do this?
If Shanahan spends the next 12 months working with a sprint coach he has a chance. He can definitely be a bit quicker than he is but whether thatâll be good enough or not it another story. Alan OâNeill is in a somewhat similar position.
Cleary has snap in his strike at all at the moment. His distribution is very haphazard as a result. He certainly has the physical presence though.
Does Davy have any interest in Stephen OâHalloran at all? I canât remember him getting much game time.
I would have OâConnor ahead of Morey, but it was more so a case of saying that Moreyâs pace would be a serious asset in a half backline with two very physical hurlers to bring some balance
I see Shane OâDonnell is out with a fractured hand from that filthy stroke he received in the first half on Wednesday night
Looked bad at the time, thats very sad to hear. Clare are lucky they didnât ship more injuries, as I said at the time Cork systematically lowered the blade from an early stage in that game, it was disgusting to watch.
Anyone have a video of said assault above?
TAN has one he filmed from the bushes
No mate, there are no videos of said assault, above. That should have been apparent to you.
its on TG4 playerâŚutterly trampish stroke
Is it really that bad? If I switch on the player Iâll end up watching the whole thing, âŚ** Doobie time.
** time please, I may be too stoned to notice the dirty stroke

About 25 min into first half. Just after the goal.
Cheers, pal. That will save me from watching the match twice.
