On Friday it was revealed that following a disciplinary issue involving a small number of the Clare panel both Davy OāHalloran and Nicky OāConnell had left the squad. Itās now been revealed that the duo refused to fulfil their three weeks of punishment which they say isolated them from and humiliated them in front of their team-mates. They did so when they realised that a senior member of the squad was exempt from similar sanctions despite what they considered a more serious breach. This was not confirmed by the Clare management team.

It looks like this Davy OāHalloran character has been telling lies judging by 1) his team-mates publicly backing their manager via a statement issued; 2) his other exiled colleague OāConnell subsequently apologising; and 3) the silence from OāHalloranās club and the failure to back him up. Complete vindication for Davy Fitzgerald and the tight ship he runs. Thereās also some anonymous internet posters like @Kid Chocolate[/USER] and [USER=1061]@twiceasnice97 who should be ashamed of themselves and issuing apologies to the manager.
Joe Player will be getting out of bed in the next few hours and will be interesting to see what he has to say about this new clare hurling story.
I think OāConnell has played this one beautifully. He gets caught on the piss, puts down a week of punishment, walks from the panel to get another few weeks off, says sorry & wupty do heās back. All the while OāHalloran took the heat completely off his roaster lip sync job with the woman.
