I honestly never saw the big problem with sulky racing. I quite like it. Lads used close roads for bowls back in the day, or driving cattle.
I was playing a hurling match in Manchester wan time and a sulky ran across the pitch.

There would be races up north for 20k cash. I’d say some of those horses would be looked after as good as horse in training if not better. Some of them are very valuable.
Settled Travellers are the worst, from my own experience. The boys on the hill in Rathkeale might slip you a dud 50 at worst.
The settled ones though like the Caseys in Southill, Hartys in Askeaton or Mullanes behind Rathkeale would take your eye out.

Proper order. That young man was entitled to every penny he got. If a traveller gets branded a thief then it’s a mark that will stick, rightly or wrongly and I’m very happy that he fought for his good name. The pizzeria sounds like an outrageous racist - “I’ve never heard an accent like that before on the map.”
It looks like, according the the judges comments, that he got a little extra over for being a traveller who was accused of stealing.
Yup that was my impression as well. Dominos backpedalled quickly, no mention it the staff member was sacked as well - as they should have been.

The pizzeria knew exactly what it had done. It launched into a racist attack on an innocent young man and it rightly didn’t want anyone to know.
Would having a place to “safely” sulky race solve a lot of problems? Like, presumably this is a big deal for travelers and they are willing to stake big money on it, so maybe something could be worked out there.

I agree might be the best way forward bild a few tracks around the country charge a few to hold races and provide education on animals welfare. Itll be a coat to state but its a compromise. They won’t stop as it part of their culture but we need a safe happy medium.
I said it above, couldn’t greyhound tracks be used? Already built so no added cost to State.
I’d imagine they would be far too tight.
