Besides being destroyed when one clan meets another, ffs travelers can’t behave at christenings, weddings, funerals,etc etc what makes you think they’d behave normally at a greyhound track lets be honest, if they’ve enough to drive high powered mega expensive vehicles, spend e40,000 plus for weddings, up to e35,000 for hideous grave stones,rob from here to New Zealand , pay fuck all tax , etc etc about time they put their hands down their trousers and bought land to use for their “ sport”
I feel for innocent kids who grow up surrounded by this constant feuding, fighting, robbing , being excluded but nothing will change for any of them until they conform and behave like the vast majority of Ireland

The ordinary traveller is more afraid and inconvenienced by the drug / rob gangs travellers who make life altogether horrible for the plain traveller who would like their kids to get out of the viscous circle most are in ,little education- no job - rob rob rob

This post is in contradiction to your last one in fairness,
Not all travellers drive high powered vehicles, not all travellers wreck the place at weddings and funerals, not all dead travellers have 35k headstones, not all travellers rob from here to New Zealand, not all travellers can afford to buy fields to race sulkys.
But you work away with the generalisations, that will really help those kids you’re so worried about

Not all exactly, but enough of them to put the hand in the pocket to buy land for all, If their culture is so important to them then surely it’d be better spent for all , instead of keep for few?

I didn’t put their kids in that situation, iwent to school with really nice traveller kids in Bishopstown in the 60s ,who once they got to 12 left primary and grew up v quickly, 2 jailed several years later( Michael Purcell was one)
Tied up an old woman ) north side)who got a banger and died, so within 7/8 years of leaving school as normal kids they turned into this via their silly macho culture of plunder and maul, I’m not that shallow to be worried about them but passing comment on why they become what they become
I wonder if Edward Stokes and Michael Stokes jnr of that IT story would be any relation to this character.

There’s plenty about daily on all media be it drugs, Roma swindling, pickpockets, burglars, drug dealers all outside the travelling commounity
They don’t all have to put up with the shitty generalisations that have become standard for travellers, even when you’re feigning pity for the children, sure what good is that gonna do.
Most travellers haven’t a pot to piss in, but you have them all in 100k cars and 40k graves.

I’d say a decent percentage of travellers are good people but they’ve no chance because of the environment they are brought up in and the constant discrimination.

Really haven’t them all in the one big bath bud but if you’re happy believing that mantra so be it, not feigning anything bud ref children, I put my money where my mouth was and actually worked for 12 years for children with TB/Aids, living in sewers and on the streets of Romania, have you done anything like this? Are you going to ?
I’m no fucking angel by any means but I speak not from bias but from what I see as truth, not saying I’m right a lot of time, I’ve no agenda ref travellers but won’t be quietened by a school master either buddy

I have worked with many many traveller children though.
In your first post you made lots of generalisations, none of which are helpful in changing the situation for the kids you claimed to feel pity for,
Didn’t mean you actually going to Romania , that point wasn’t to big me up but to show you that I’m not an uncaring bollox ref children suffering despite what you think , then again threes nothing stopping you going to say African, Albania , Moldova 
etc to really work with underprivileged kids , who really have fuck all and could do with a educator even for your summer holidays say, always India

Corky you are one of the good guys. Some of the soundest most genuine people I know absolutely despise travellers and they have their reasons and its hard to argue against them. I’ve given up worrying about it or trying to reason with them it’s just the way things are in Ireland and its never going to change and its only going to get worse. And at the same time travellers behaviour is going to get worse. All I can do is have my own view, treat each single person as I find them regardless of family or ethnicity and try to bring my kids up the same way.
do you at least get the point I was making there about the hypothetical ‘council estate’ thread?

Yes indeed there’s as many pricks outside of the travelling community and yes they all don’t get as bad a press as the travellers
