Closer - Greatest Last Song on an Album

It’s just an opinion.

Yes, and TFK is haven for those opinions and you will never be relentlessly harassed because your opinion is wrong, wrong, wrong.

Brown Bag Genius

OMG.

This is the album you want lads for when she’s been gettin a little shy, shall we say, about things. Her knees won’t thank you but the rest of her will

Pavement would be right up there in the opening track competition, Summer Babe/ Silence Kid/We Dance/Stereo/Spit on a Stranger.

Rangelife is one of the greatest songs never written

It has it all. Starts off as an innocent Americana song, gets a bit edgy with the lyrics in verse 2, and then descends into madness. I read an interview with Malkmus where he said (taking the piss) he didn’t understand why anyone would be offended by the lyrics. I’m sure Billy was delighted to hear “I don’t understand what they mean, and I could really give a fuck”.

I have a good long term mate who farms near Stockton, have gone out there a few times and did a loop down 99 to Modesto, then Merced, across to Los Banos and back on 5. It’s a lovely day out, but after interacting with the locals you come to understand how a band like this came from a place like that.

You’re cleaning house here, it’s the Baltic states of threads

There are not many compilations that are made up of solely B sides, it’s a reflection of the scale of Noel’s writing before Be Here Now. They would have been as well off imo replacing the weak sections of Be Here Now with the best songs from the compilation, and then would have had 3 classic albums on the trot. Acquiesce and The Masterplan are as good as anything they recorded, they have to be on some album, not many have heard every B side.

The 4 Beatles contributions are top notch.

@Lazarus is slightly ahead here tho.

I think Bowie’s Rock n Roll Suicide is suffering because I never posted a video
