Club Championships 2009
judes…fookin Orwell muppets…your not the only one behind enemy lines…seen Crennan and Caroll strolling around ballycullen a few times…the best battles between judes and boden used to take place in the Club Sarah carpark…:D:D
I’d say sunday will be a tight niggley affair…
If there aren’t digs on the pitch there could be some off pitch high jinks:D

C’mon the Judes

Hard to see them winning Puke. Mostly for the reasons you give, would be great for hurling in the city though. Especially as South Liberities won the intermediate(About time too!)

Alot of the Na Piarsigh lads are whinging about the choice of ref, saying he’s far too loose. I.E. they’re afraid Adare will horse them out of it and get away with it.

The word on the grapevine that reached here is that Portlaoise are a cracker bet for Leinster if not he A/I.?
P’raps MBB can flesh this out (C/Final not played) and can someone supply prices?

hand on heart i don’t think the dublin champs will be as formidable as last 2 years whichever team wins on sunday…think they’ve any easy enough path to final though…could be wrong…Rhode and crokes crashing out makes it wide open…

Portlaois are a good bet for Leinster and indeed the all ireland, 10/3 for the provincial and 12/1 to win it outright. With all the big guns of Crokes, Crossmaglen and Nemo gone it is going to be more open this year.

A good outside bet are Moorefield (6/1 for Leinster and 25/1 for the All Ireland). They won Leinster 3 years ago and should have beaten Dr Crokes in the semi final.

Portlaoise got an awful kick in the arse last year from Rhode. The year before Vin bet them. They wont get caught this year imo. Dont put the mortgage on them, but as a decent bet, they’ll be hard bet in Leinster. I have the money on them from early in the year. Moorefield will be the wildcard.

KIB at 13/2 for Munster is the stand out bet. Certs to make final.
Emmets were senior for years, but got relegated a few years back. Lost IFC semi this year, Scanlon lorded it over them I think. Tadgh was injured in that game.

Thinking behind them is that it gives exposure to players from smaller clubs, likes of Dec O Sullivan, Darran O S, etc etc.
Yeah well reflected in the spread of players in the squad, 12 different clubs represented in the starting line up and 20 in the squad. Thats a savage spread in fairness, Cork use the same system more or less and have an even bigger number of clubs represented. Gives far more players chance to play at their best level.

The divisional teams dont tend to do as well in Cork though, Carbery, Duhallow and maybe Beara are only teams I can really remember winning it as long as Im watching it

Junior rugby is province wide and the travelling is a pain in the hole and makes home advantage huge, not sure does it work out like that in Kerry.

Few games on this weekend, Tralee are in Thurles and Kilfeacle (Tipp town) are in Skibereen, they are 400 km return journeys, some dose on a Sunday morning.

That would be more due to the lack of rugby clubs though wouldn’t it?

A Kerry or Tipperary Rugby championship wouldn’t be much craic.

Poor aul Dan…

LSFC Final: Drom/Broadford 0-09 0-07 Fr. Caseys

It’s time for The Link Walsh to come on and face the music. He hasn’t been around these parts since before The Rower-Inistioge got beaten last week.

I clean forgot about this being on today.

I only found out last night that the leg break victim from the first game is still in intensive care in hospital, has had serious complications with blood clots. The leg/ankle was broken in 3 places.

Castlemartyr. Nemo Rangers. Tomorrow. Cobh. 4 p.m.

I expect Kev and Locke to be out in full force doing their bit, cheering for a Castlemartyr victory over the evil unwashed Nemo masses.

Gowran relegated from Senior in Kilkenny. HOTY 2009, Tommy Walsh to the fore in a six point win for Tullaroan. Likely to be Charlie Carters last outing in a Gowran jersey too. Came on with 5 minutes to go when they were 5 points down.

Thomastown relegated from intermediate.

Junior final tomorrow (G’WANDELOCKES) Hopefully a Lockes win and several:pint::clap::pint::D:pint: to follow

Intermediate final between DIcksboro and Freshford on as well.

I’d be surprised if Locke isn’t in Nowlan Park tomorrow greeting everyone with a cheery ‘wishybuh’.

That traitorous bastard.

Serious game in Parnell Park tomorrow
