True but the likes of Duggan Park or Tuam make Cusack Park look like the Noucamp.
Kerins dragging Mclearn all over the shop might well be the winning of it for Bridge. It will be the complete opposite of what McLearn faced against a slow as fook Joe Canning. Alan Kerins has been on fire all year in fairness to him, nothing like getting dropped from the County team for a lad to really turn it on at club. Town will do their best to keep it tight and the weather will probably help them but Bridge have the better freescoring forwards and that will be the winning of it I reckon
Jamie Cannon will be a big addition also after he was suspended for the semi final. True for you about Canning, he didnt offer much movement against The Town which suited McLearn, he’ll flake and welt all day but if he is dragged out of the paddock and into the jungle he wont like it.
Congrats to John Lockes of Callan on their win over Ballyfin today. 4 each that the break, but Lockes pulled away with the wind in the second half to win 0-12 to 0-6.
OLG have a goal after 17 secs against Rathdowney Errill
Old man McConville scores and it looks like the champions are going out. Cracking Tomas O’Se impression by the Crossmaglen corner back a few minutes back. And it’s breaking out again now. There will be more to see the line in this yet.
1-8 to 0-2 now to OLG. This one seems done before half time. There is a gale force wind in OMP and I hope for Rathdowney Errill’s sake its in OLG’s backs.
HT in pearse stadium. Bridge winning 2-6 to 0-7. Kerins brothers doing fair damage. Loughrea new found forwards look a bit on the lightish side. The Bridge have a nice edge to them, previous bridge teams would have been bullied a bit more…
Westmeath hurling is coming on and on for the past few years but Coolderry will be disgusted with that. This was seen as a coming team having matured after winning an Offaly Cship a few years back. OTB will be fancying their chances in Leinster now.
FT in OMP, Rathdowney/Erill (Laois) 0-14 3-16 O’Loughlin Gaels (Kilkenny). RE had a man sent off in second half, but as usual, the goals killed them.
Dublin SHC Final
Ballyboden 3-12 St Vincent’s 1-10
12 minutes into the second half
Boden have got 2-1 in the last two minutes
Niall McMorrow and Conal Keaney with the goals
Vincent’s come back with a goal as I type
Clarinbridge were lucky to salvage the draw in the end. They were well ontop in the first half with Eoin Forde running riot very early in the half and then the two Kerins took over as the rampant force. Every attack came through Mark or Alan and Marks free taking was solid enough on the day also. They linked up very well for the second of the Bridges goals.
However Loughrea have a great habit of hanging in there and when the chips are down they come into their own. They thrive on the hard won 50/50 ball and they got their lucky break when they won a penalty, great finish too.
Draw was a fair result, I though the standard was pretty good to be honest, some decent overhead pulling (wild at times ) .
Loughrea dished it out heavy enough at times today, Stones Kennedy was lucky, silly sh*t considering he is part of the management team and was hardly on the field 5 minutes. Kerins played up to it well though as he knew something had to break the momentum that Loughrea had built up. Brian Burke was swinging like billio at times down the other end too. Have to say I like the look of this Burke fella, looks mean as fcuk.
Mark Kerins (sad to say) is still the best no 11 in Galway. Granted he was on a poorly performing Shaughs today but his ability to win possession and turn ito into scores is excellent. Eoin Forde blistered into action very early in the first half but he went out of it after that.
In fairness to Johnny Maher, he had a great game also. Great admiration for this guy, always comes good for Loughrea on the big days.
