The open nature of the Wexford senior hurling championship hasn’t lent itself to a dominant force building in Leinster like Oulart did during the late 00’s and early 10’s. St. Martin’s should be a threat in Leinster but haven’t fulfilled their potential yet. Hard to believe how well Rapps played in the county final 10 weeks ago compared to tonight.

To be fair, oulart never dominated Leinster club hurling. They won one title. For all their years in it, they did fuck all really.
Wexford teams by and large are shit in AI series hurling and football at all grades

Didn’t they beat the Kilkenny champions 3 years in a row only to mess up in the final against Coolderry, Kilcormac-Killoughey and MLR? There were a couple of very winnable All-Ireland club championships in 2012 and 2014.

Ah he seems a nice, harmless lad but he doesn’t offer much as a co-commentator. He’s eager to please and excitable but never really informative.
The top pundits - your Cyril’s etc - just don’t make mistakes like the one you alluded to there. Cyril would have got the name right and also referenced that he had seen him score 1-04 in a Fitzgibbon Cup match at the Mardyke the other year.

First time in 20 years by my reckoning, that a Laois Club side has defeated a higher ‘ranked’ county. In 2001/02, Castletown beat Faythe Harriers in the Leinster semi before drawing with, and then losing to Birr in a replay in the decider.
