Club Championships 2024

Not sure to be honest. He had a big impact off the bench. Very strong runner.

Crokes were too cute for them. Very good defensively. It’s hard to know how far they will go because they aren’t the physically strongest of sides, but then again Kilcoo certainly aren’t either and they have an AI to their name.

The game has been fixed for this Sunday (Nov 17th) at Lakepoint Park.

Big weekend of Club Hurling action this weekend.

We’ll be down to just 7 teams turning on the lights on Tuesday night after it.

Ballygunner loughmore will be one to watch tomorrow. Loughmore will be carrying a chip on the shoulder after the way the mcgraths were sent off a couple of years ago.
If there’s to be a shock st mullins to beat kilcormac could be it

Kilcormac missing Kiely centre back and Ter Guinan who’d been playing very well half forward

Tomorrow is five years to the day almost since Ballygunner lost in Munster, again to a Tipp team.

They won’t be lacking for motivation themselves having been very unhappy with how they were portrayed after that game with Loughmore along with the manner of last years exit to St Thomas’s.

If any team can go into the trenches and dig out a result its Loughmore but at home you’d have to fancy BG to figure it out.

Tonights game could be a cracker too. I’m really looking forward to it.

That cheat Leavey in midfield will be getting hit hard tomorrow.

When did borris kilcotton get relegated? Were they not in a couple of senior finals not so long ago? Is the senior b grade gone in laois ?

Lost 3 county finals in a row I think it was and were relegated in the 4th year. With 8 teams it can be easy get dragged into it. Once it in, the were mugged off at the death of the final by The Harps. I was at the final, the silence when they were caught was incredible.

Senior B is now Premier Intermediate which is what they absolutely cakewalked this year. They have Lisdowney at home in LHOMP next weekend, you’d imagine that should give us the Leinster winners.

A decent team tbf

Rathnure should have a say in it too. Closest anyone got to them in the Wexford IHC was 5 points. Mind you, AJ Redmond got a straight red card and probably misses the semi-final now. They beat Commercials of Dublin by 7 points.

Rathnure weren’t convincing today. Look like a team who are more suited to fast ball and hard ground. They’ll have it all to do to beat bray a seasoned team at this level

Silly of dublin to have commercials (inter champs) and not naomh barrog (senior b) playing in leinster. Crumlin got a right trimming off Freshford today.

I’ve no interest in the inter-parochial championships but my Spotify seeped into the Wexford Hurling podcast during a run earlier & Garry/Gary Laffan seemed to be one of those lads who just makes things up when talking about hurling. Just the type of lad who speaks with misplaced authority but whose purported facts are mostly inaccurate. He was on about Commercials winning a play-off with the Senior B champions to face Rathnure & loads of other complete guff. I think he’s a Fianna Fáil councillor.

Joe Brolly once described Donal Óg as a confident idiot, which nicely describes lads like you describe

Bray beat our very own Ratoath by a point today actually. They shipped 4 goals against Carnew in the Wicklow SH final though and I don’t think they’re at the same level as they were when they won Leinster a couple of years ago.

It’s confident fellows with a bit of swagger like Garry/Gary Laffan that you need to win an All Ireland. If memory serves me correct, he delivered a real Tour de France on the big day in the 1996 All Ireland Final.
