Did the KK man pkay for Ballycastle today?
No, he didnt come on. He came on vs Loughgiel last day out when the game was gone and he did very well. He won a lot of ball, im surprised he didnt get a run out today.
A great man to get on breaks and win ball on the ground. A great addition to yer club. Good coach.
A couple of people i have talked with speak highly of him. My nephew who is part of the panel expects him to be a future coach or manager of the team.
Wow.
Iād have had Errigal down as certainties for that one, but then again there are no certainties in Tyrone.
Clonoe #refusetolose.
A very spirited fightback after being four points down. Connor McAliskey still doing the business for them.
Big win for Palatine dethroning Eire Og in the Carlow senior football semi final. Last gasp free to win it 3ā10 to 2-12.
Palatine v Rathvilly final.
cc @Fagan_ODowd
Iād fancy Rathvilly to win that final. Beat an in-form Old Leighlin today with 14 men. Although Pal beat them by a point in the group.
I havenāt really been followed it that closely. Iāll probably go to the final alright. I go most years. Iāll throw my lot in with Palatine in solidarity with @Fagan_ODowd.
Kildavin-Clonegal v Fenagh in the Intermediate final and Ballon v Leighlinbridge in the Junior A. Iād tip KC and Ballon to win those finals.
Tinryland v Clonmore in senior relegation final. Quite the year for Tinryland after making Senior final last two years and having a managerial heave mid season.
Yeah they ousted the Adamstown (Wexford) secondary school principal John Nolan after a first round loss to Old Leighlin. The talk was that the previous manager from Raheny was too defensive in reaching the two finals. Iād say Clonmore will beat them in the relegation final.
Best of luck to any Kildavin posters on the forum
The business end of the Dublin SHC gets going this weekend with two quarter finals and two relegation games.
Lucan vs Whitehall.
This really is bonus territory for Whitehall to get to the knockout stages and avoid a relegation playoff. They are an admirable crew with a load of dual players who are also in the senior B football semi finals. Eoghan O Donnell is their main man up front switching between 14 and 11. Cormac Costello started the last day and was a threat. Paddy Spellacy, Enda O Donnell, Eddie Moran and Daire Grey at 6 are other really solid operators. However they are a little thin on talent for the knockout stages after that. Theyāll need all on form in order to progress. Theyāll also need Lucan to underperform. They are well capable of that. A funny outfit that beat NaF and drew Crokes. However they struggled with Cuala and Brigids. Johnny Bellew is in the form.of his lige at the back and will pick Oā Donnell surely. The last day out their forwards clicked with Coffey, Dowling and Keher all going well. If they can repeat that they should have enough to get to another semifinal.
Ballyboden vs Na Fianna
Both teams come in here with a bit to prove after underwhelming group stages. Boden lost first day out to Vincents. They regrouped with wins over Judes, Craobh and Whitehall, however none of those three would be regarded championship contenders. Na Fianna drew with a weakened Crokes team where they should have won and were sucker punched by Lucan by a last second goal the last day out. Boden are still relying on the elder statesmen of Simon Lambert and Niall Mcmorrow at 6 and 11 respectively. David Gleeson who transferred from Tipp has scored heavily as an inside forward. James Madden is their only Dublin representative and is an excellent man marker. Na Fianna have scored well so far this year however conceding big totals has been their issue. They have a very potent forward line on paper and any one of them could put up a game winning score on their day. Donal Burke has returned from injury but hasnāt returned to his pre-injury form. This is a repeat of last years county final. Na Fianna won that by about 10 points. I expect this game to be a lot closer.
Relegation
Cuala vs Judes
An easy win here for Cuala who were unlucky not to make the quarter finals.
Craobh vs Brigids
This will be a close one. If Brigids get their injured bodies back and can keep 15 on the field Iāll give them the nod here.
The usual on point summing-up there Mr Pox. Lucan have a stronger starting 15 and a deeper panel than Whitehall so should run out winners with a few points to spare. However, they have to turn up and, given previous mad-stuff in the past, such as against Crokes, thereāll always be some doubts perhaps. Agree on Bellew, heās been a/the stand-out performer in the championship this year for me - Iād suggest that he has flourished under Donoghue but thatād only serve to rile you!
On the relegation matches, there is the possibility of there being no relegation this year. The system is due a review and the bye, arising from 10 senior teams in 2 groups of 5, makes a feck of things and needs to be resolved. Judes and Brigids seem to have given up from early given the nature of their displays but may be anticipating this outcome.
0-4 to 0-3 to Carmen against Killyclogher at HT.
Carrick have failed to score from play and retreated into 15 behind the ball. Killyclogher look to have more quality but Carrick are well set up.
Killyclogher win by 2, 0-8 to 0-6. The wind picked up in the second and Bradley kicked 4 of their 5 second half points, he was the difference.
In typical Tyrone fashion it was played defensively on both sides of the ball, the only goal chance fell to Killyclogher who in the process of attempting the Dublin hand ball goal messed up the hand pass and no score.
Itās engrossing stuff in that itās so feckin high stakes. The athleticism is superb but the finishing for both sides leaves a bit to be desired.
20 years without the title next year for Carmen. Like Cork hurlers.
Cuala and Brigids win their playoffs for what itās worth @flutehook
Cuala 2-23 Judes 0-17
Brigids 0-25 Craobh 1-14
Con was supposed to be unreal.
