Club Championships 2024

What an end. NaF ripped up all the Hurling cliches about taking your points.

Nah. Fuck em.

Great fare. Cahair might have competition for the best county final ever after one day

Your heart would go out to Kilmacud, said no-one ever.

Kilmacrud Chokes.

A tremendous game and finish. Kilmacud absolutely ballsed it up spurning a host of chances but you have to stay in the fight to give yourself a shot at coming down the stretch and that’s what Na Fianna did. Champions find a way.

@Cheasty called it spot on a mile out that there were shades of Leinster in Heino Finals about Kilmacud. When you see a team on fire like that so early its usually too good to be true and they faded from around the 20th minute onwards.

100% when I first went to Dublin I played with Crokes. Great hurling people involved with them and they were very much separate to the Football section even back then.

Na Fianna were dreadful in the last 10 minutes. Making appalling decisions on the ball.

I don’t think it was a case of champions finding a way more a case of they just happened to be in front at the end.

Crokes set up on the pitch was daft too.

What’s his story? has he been carrying an injury all year? didn’t look fit. a fine hurler

Crokes put a lovely lineball right into the edge of the square in the 2nd half and not a Crokes player in sight. All back out the field, some smart arse coach with a plan no doubt.

Yeah, I found it odd that there was even a slight debate about going for goal with the late free. Aside from a booming point from the wing back NaF were utterly toothless for the last 20 of that game, would have been bizarre to think they would engineer another point chance if they tapped it over

Its a lessson to teams that you should always go for it if your a couple of points down with time up or in injury time.

Too many teams bottle it and tap it over and bring it back to one but never get a chance to equalise. You have to win the next puckout, work the ball into a scoring position and then nail the shot. Its a lot to go right.

I’d go for goal from the free every day of the week and make them answer the question and block it.

Apart from Cian O’Sullivan you’ll probably pick Dublin 10 to 15 from those two teams. Actually maybe 8 to 15.

I thought Dara Purcell midfield was very good for Kilmacud

Donal Burke not really firing yet for Na Fianna. If they could get him going right they’ll give Leinster and All Ireland some rattle.

The power rankings will be good from here

In fairness my heart goes out to @TheUlteriorMotive but yes generally it’s fuck crokes

Well done to all my Mobhi Road and its environs e-pals

Will be a tough one for a Kilmacud to take.

After last year they had a long winter to think things over after a season where they never really fired with lads injured/travelling for a lot of it.

This year they threw everything at it with nobody going away and the injuries clearing up for the most part bar Considine. They also gained Purcell.

With McGovern joining Dublin this will probably be the end of this Management team. They’ll need to get the next appointment right as while there are All Ireland Clubs in this team, they will have to be earned and no guarantees.

After Daly I wonder will they be sceptical about the big name outsider. Have they ever tried to get Nicky English involved? Living in the area and would be ideal even in an advisory capacity.

They need to get Ollie Baker back in
