Club Championships 2025/26

I’m torn on this.

Parnell Park is a lovely compact ground that makes for a great atmosphere, but its a bit of a joke of a pitch for hurling its so tight. I’ve often been there and thought I’ve seen some lovely diagonal ball played into a full forward line only for some half back to come out of nowhere to cut it off.

Three or four years ago I’d have said this was defitintely advantage Slaughtneil, but these young lads like O’Mianan and McEldowney have so much pace, they’d nearly be better off tearing off up the field on a bigger pitch.

Any ideas on the venue for the other semi final?

Ballygunner v Ballyhale in Thurles, BG v Martins in Nowlan Park seem to make the most sense.

They must be making a concerted effort to get their act together now and win Junior B next year. The Graiguecullen dream unravelled.

Ballygunner v Ballyhale would surely be in Thurles alright. The Qatari style floodlights in Wexford shouldn’t be trusted with a fixture of such magnitude.

A Sunday fixture too preferably. The Races are on in Thurles on the Saturday which would cause a bit of a bottleneck for Parking/Traffic out that side of town. Knowing Feargal and the lads they’ll probably try play it on the Saturday night with a 7.35pm throw in time to ensure the inevitable penalty shootout takes place as close to midnight as possible.

Ballygunner v Martins would have to be on at 1pm or so to allow for a Pelanty shootout in brightness if in Nowlan Park.

The optimum outcome here is as follows:

Slaughtneil v Loughrea in Parnell Park at 1.15pm on Sunday 21st

Ballyhale v Ballygunner in Thurles at 3.30pm on Sunday 21st.

I have a feeling the Martin’s will win tomorrow though.

I think Dr Cullen Park is closed till the new year so that’s not an option for the Ballygunner game.

The New Oak soccer club he plays for are an interesting lot too.

Did you ever measure it?

Is it the same as the tight confines of Cusack Park in Ennis?

@Gman

Ballacolla v Shamrocks of Ballyhale was a superior no 1

Bookmarked.

I never got my trundle wheel out but would trust the Na Fianna contingents measurements.
