A poor weekend for me prediction wise getting 3/6. Results leave with us both groups maybe requiring “calculators at the ready” for the last round of group games.
Na Fianna and Kilmacud both had very handy wins vs Vincents and Whitehall. They will play in a top of the table clash. Both have them must have used the bones of 26/27 players so far but the serious stuff is up next and their teams will have to settle down. Isles had a great win vs a depleted Barrog. Isles have one foot in the qfs while Barrog still have a chance of getting in there too depite being pointless.
Cuala had a extremely facile win over Faughs to guarantee top spot. They are building well. I wasnt at the Lucan game but they seemingly put in a very impressive performance. Killian Costello at 11 now was impressive again. The shock of the round was Judes beating Boden for the first time ever to irk @caoimhaoin. Two goals in the opening minutes gave them confidence and a 3rd 15mins in consolidated it. Boden were the better team but just couldn’t manage the game especially when picking up injuries in the 2nd half to key defenders. Callum Graham and Danny Sutcliffe impressed for Judes. Cuala and Lucan have 1st and 2nd spots wrapped up and Brigids are almost guaranteed a qf but the final spot is up in the air going into the last round.
Despite all the permutations, this round left it quite clear that there are a clear top 4 teams ahead of the pack and it is very hard to see any shocks in the Qfs in 3 weeks time. You could throw a blanket over teams 8-12 as well as the top 5 teams in senior B.
I think Errigal could be dumped out. They face the high flying league champions and no sign of the Canavans yet after their injuries. I also fany last season’s champions Loughmacrory to make an early exit. Hard to call a winner but I think Donaghmore could be a dark horse. Very young team which have backboned a lot of the successful Tyrone u20 teams of late. No result would be a great shock in any of those ties.
Edendork with a 3 point win last night over Ardboe. Morgan was in nets rather than outfield so must be carrying a slight issue. Big Conn with 5 points including a couple of 2 pointers. McCurry seemed to have a quiet enough evening by his standards.
