@halfback

Full backs who can’t defend high balls and goalies who jump out of the way of shots. When are Ulster going to get back to having players who can do their jobs again?

That fullback line would have played their entire underage football career without a high ball being kicked in like that, it’s almost unfair that they have to start learning basic football skills at adult level. I’d bet any money that fella who ran out under the ball is a dinger at support runs off the shoulder and recycling possession though.
I see Edendork had it handy enough in Tyrone last night. Due to the uniqueness of Tyrone football they are now set to either be crowned county champions in 2 weeks, or playing a relegation playoff with Moortown in 4 weeks to see who gets relegated to intermediate. That is the class thing about Tyrone football, all the clubs are so even anyone can make the senior final. The fact Moortowns relegation play-off (if Edendork lose the senior final) will be their first game in 2 months is a lovely throwback to the pre split season format too. If you are wondering how strong Tyrone intermediate club football must be, the winners last year were beaten by the Cavan intermediate champions.

There always seems to be an excuse with the Limerick clubs. Was it a few weddings that cost Kilmallock in early 2022? A trip to Sandy Lane that did for Patrickswell in 2019?

Na Piarsaigh have always had at least a two week lead in their games against the Waterford Champions.

WOD may have missed the 2025 clash but how much of a loss he was is debatable. He was cleaned out by Conor Sheahan at midfield in 2022 and his biggest contribution to the 2023 clash was trying to start a row with one of the Mahony’s which didn’t really work either.

The Casey’s have missed a sum total of 6 minutes between them of the past four meetings between the sides too.

Doon are the only team that could legitimately feel they couldn’t put their best foot forward having had a seven day turnaround after winning their first county title ever but any grievances they have should be directed at ā€˜Spike’ and the Limerick County Board rather than anyone else.

Agreed. Na piarsigh have had ballygunner at home in the GG the last 2, or maybe 3 meetings. And ballygunner have won fairly comfortably enough in the finish. I remember 2/3 years ago when they played, the first half was an absolute cracker but then the gunners took over in the second half.

Garrymore defeat Belmullet. They’re the club story of the year so far. Would be amazing to see them win out Mayo. A townland if you could even call it that

Camross account for Rosenallis comfortably

Harps lead Clough Ballacolla by 6 at the break after playing with the wind.

Can they see this out?

THE HARPS HAVE DONE IT!

A James Duggan goal in injury time wins it

Boden and Cuala nip and tuck. 14 each. 15 to go

He’s a proper player.

Delaney?

Boden beat by Cuala in Dublin

Yep, Noel’s lad.

Darren Maher missed the game for Ballacolla and while he’s no spring chicken they missed him at full back.

Harps full value for their win and will take on Camross now. These are the sort of finals Camross built their roll of honour on, but they’re not what they were and all momentum with Ken Hogans men.

Harps have never won a senior. If they win this they could be looking at dominating for a good number of years.

Extra time in Donegal ?

Cuala beat Boden by 4 points but was really close up to last 3 minutes . I’m a big fan of this cuala team , don’t have the panel depth of Boden or the running power but are very clever operators . Really learnt from last years game , slowed the game down at every opportunity and dictated the tempo . Boden hit a purple patch 10 mins after half time and looked to have reeled cuala in and were dominating the middle .But cuala kept their nerve and had smarter footballers around half back to half forward . @Spidey @binkybarnes are they all local lads ?

Not a fan of this new scoreboard on TG4. Glenswilly will be kicking themselves that they got reeled in late on. Scores completely dried up for them.

Wolfe Tones put Summerhill out of Meath, Maynooth put Athy out of Kildare. Martins put Castletown out of Wexford. Great edge to this weekend.

I think they are all local. I’m delighted they won. Far easier on the eye than Ballyboden who are all about size and athleticism. Con is phenomenal when you think of what he has done in both codes for his club.
