Both were routine wins but Liverpool had the easiest route to a final in the past 15 years.
They did not meet a team who had even contested a CL final in the preceding 10 years enroute to the final. That stroke of luck has never happened (not having to play a CL/EC finalist of the preceding 10 years) to any side since the very first Champions League in 92/93 which consisted of just 8 sides. They fluked their way to the final and were routinely beaten.

Klopp has been at Liverpool for 3 seasons, finished 8th, 4th and 4th got to the league cup final and lost, got to the europa league final and lost, got to the champions league final and lost. Spent £300m+ whilst breaking the record for a defender by spending £75m.
