He hardly needs the high viz gear with that head of teeth.

Man’s gone 7 months and lads are still obsessed with him.

The glasses are for the glare off the teeth

Wait till he’s in the crowd beside @balbec for Palace (H) on the final day. Lads will be having conniptions on here.

It’s an incredible feat to be a great manager yourself but to leave a club in such a healthy state that your successor can come in and seamlessly build on your work.

Only the greatest of the great can do it. At Liverpool we’re exceptionally lucky to have had several of these greats who handed the club over to the next man in pristine condition.

Outside of Liverpool it’s actually quite difficult to think of any manager who has done so. Rinus Michels at Ajax perhaps, maybe Arrigo Sacchi at AC Milan.

Bill Walsh at the San Francisco 49ers in a non-sport sport.

Fergie left Utd in rude health.

Ah you’d have to say he didn’t. He’d papered over the cracks and wrung the last drop out of what they had and they were a house of cards waiting to fall.

He was like Marshal Tito in Yugoslavia. He was holding things together through his iron will but once he departed, disintegration in short order was inevitable.

It’s now 11 and a half years since Fergie left. 11 and a half years after Tito died was when the war was really starting to get going in Yugoslavia and things really started to fall apart. Sir Big Jim Ratcliffe seems to be like General Ratko Mladic overseeing a mass bloodletting.

I was being sarcastic. Fergue was able to dominate domestically due to their financial clout. Fergie was caught out tactically time and again in Europe and once foreign cosches started to come in to the PL financial clout no longer was enough to dominate.

Brian Fenton should do that stand up routine.

He dominated right to the end though. He won 13 titles in one of the big 3 leagues in Europe. Its impossible to compare him to anyone else really.

They were out spent by Chelsea and Man City as well.

And He still won titles.

All English clubs struggled in Europe after Liverpool fans got everyone banned.

Fergies Manchester United broke the class ceiling again in 1999. Just like in 68.

They still haven’t repaired the glass ceiling. Amorim was getting drowned wet
