Liverpool are not really a football giant these days though. Recruiting a team capable of matching Madrid is an outstanding bit of management, and Liverpool did, for the most part. They had nothing on the bench but lost two of their best forwards and have a threadbare enough squad. I’ve never seen Madrid play, don’t like soccer bar Scottish soccer, and have only seen highlights of Liverpool so I can’t comment on anything else. Klopp has reinvigorated the club though. That is absolutely without question, and the manyoo fans I know would love to have him at OT

Klopp is one of the greatest cult leaders of all time. He has presided over three seasons without a trophy now, finished 4th, 4th and 8th, lost 3 Cup finals and he goes out night after a final singing songs celebrating a defeat. That’s the culture he has instilled at Liverpool
