This thing of not allowing people going to their parents funeral is possibly the most sick and twisted part of the restrictions.

Very sad. RIP.
Mick Wallaces mother died just before Christmas and despite there not being any travel restrictions in force here, his family convinced him not to come home because of how it would look as an EU politician and what went on with the Phil Hogan scandal. So having to pay for the curtain twitching element of society meant he watched his mothers funeral on facebook whilst in Brussels.
The whole thing is an awful experience.

I was talking to the oul fella at the weekend and he was saying the mother of a friend of his had died and how awful it was that his friend couldn’t go to the funeral because it was the other side of the country. I told the oul fella to tell that man to go to the funeral or he will regret it for the rest of his life but he is fairly LIDTF apart from when it comes to golf so I doubt my message was passed on.

She died on 19 January. Hard station to be in a foreign country and not able to be there at the end or for her funeral.
