good one, I made my money/communion back in 82 in riverchapel and i went around on a victory lap of the harbour scooping up pound notes and fivers to beat the band and as venal and greedy as posible only a short 5 minutes after my prayer of christ beside me etc and it was the same for all the others in my class
I do choose to believe there’s a god and yes I know it’s fine
. Same as if you don’t believe that’s fine too, but no need to go about the place trying to be all cool and hip saying you’re atheist and trying to ram that down others throats.
BTW if there’s no god where did we come from so ?
You came from your da’s ball sack and your ma’s uterus.

so youre only an a la carte catholic ?
I’m a devout Catholic pal. If I had my way there would be a Catholic ISIS going around Dublin and dragging cunts back into mass.
Theyll still know people in other schools but obviously at that age they wont really ‘miss’ anything. But the family miss out on gathering people together one of the few times in the kids life they do and it’s a happy day for them and the kid. It’s what their parents and parents parents etc did and is one of the few unbroken Irish traditions still going. Great for photos too. Don’t see the harm in it really.
Confirmations should probably be left until the kid is around 15/16 and let the kid decide themselves then if they want to make it.
I’ll be putting mine through this shite. Hedging our bets!
I dont think anyone gives a shit whether people cough up cash for their kids in this day and age glas. It’s more a chance for a family occasion.

I’d nearly have gone for ashes today just to piss him off.
Ah yeah KP that’s the shit that pisses me off, I’d be a practicing Catholic but don’t need to mention it every day.
Apparently its cool and hip now to comment and sneer at Catholics and they don’t mind trying to ram their atheist views down everyone’s necks.
I don’t pass any comment about you not going to mass choco so please don’t bother commenting on my attendance.

Cunts like Ray Darcy would rot your hole alright but a few lads on here obciously worship him it seems.

Where did I pass any comment, mate? Maybe your getting confused with your other alias? I don’t mention my beliefs very often, its been over a year since we had a Barney about god and religion on here I’d say. If you want to waste your time on make believe that’s your prerogative, I couldn’t give a flying fuck what god or monster in the sky you pray to.
It’s obvious you’re a non believer. I was only wondering why you take it upon yourself to ridicule those that do. Is it an attempt to fit in ? Seeing as it’s cool right now to attack god.
I actually said a prayer tonight for you and your family. You can thank me later.

Where did I do that, mate? All I did was ridicule the words of a bishop.
