Some bad games over the years in this. The postives that Fletcher is outstanding yet again in a big match and that Wayne Rooney is looking sharp. Negatives is that Ben Foster is shit and Ferguson needs to sign a new goalkeeper before next Sunday.

Never a massively relevant game in the overall scheme of things but you’d have to think it will be a nice little confidence boost for Ancelloti and his mob. Chelsea’s defence looked a little shaky at times but I’d have little doubt that that’s just early season rustiness. All the pre-season friendlies don’t prepare you for a game which - in fairness for it being a glorified friendly itself - was fairly intense.
