Thats all fine…but you’d be a fool to think the size of the award was for the benefit of the families…or the unrelated fbi lawyer/victim who was supposedly damaged by something jones said about someone else.
US courts are bonkers, they just award massive money for everything. And then the people end up taking €50 after about 10 years of appeals etc

I’d advise reading the tesla quotation. The bit about soldiers breaking step when crossing bridges is legit…i think it was a bridge in scotland where a whole hape of soldiers drowned. A similar phenomenon almost happened when Londons millennium bridge opened to the public.
