Turn over to Setanta Ireland and stop moaning like a bitch.
+1.
Listen to Will Downing talking about Lucas’ turnaround in form and how Liverpool supporters don’t want him to die any more or Neymar getting his 17-year-old wife up the duff.
“Neymar is going to be a dad in December. He’s 19 and the missus is 17” - said in a tone as if he’s talking about one of his mates in the pub
Just checked and it’s actually 14/1. Have seen 2 corners in the last 25 mins of the half. What nerdy site would give me an exact number Rocko?
I don’t know Mac. I only noticed those two also - the one after Robinho’s shot was blocked by the guy on the line and Neymar’s chip after your man stayed down up the other end.
There are match stats on ESPN:
http://soccernet.espn.go.com/match?id=314583&cc=5739
but the corners there are wrong anyway.
In other news I’m moving to Setanta for the second half.
Go to bet365 inplay for the game and click on the incident drop down arrow.
Just noticed Ladbrokes have a similar thing. Looks like it was only 2 in the first half. Hardly likely there’ll be 3 or less in the second half. Backed over 4.5 goals as well
Will Downing just compared Neymar’s hair to Bonnie Tyler’s.
A few sloppy touches from Brazil this half. Robinho has been wasteful. Ganso not involved enough. I think they need to be a bit more patient. The quick attacks are useful the odd time but sometimes it needs a bit of patience to draw the defenders out.
I don’t like Robinho as a footballer.
“Right said Mano, ‘It’s time for Fred’.”
Brazil are 10/11 now. Time to start chasing like an addict?
Is it a bad sign when you’re looking to green up on a corners bet?!
What a shit start to the tournament.
Brazilian cunts giving corners away
Can only afford one more now.
Yessssssssssssss
Corners look safe Mac.
Poor second half from Brazil and 3 disappointing games now. Thought Pato was badly missed when he went off - Fred isn’t good enough to be a fulcrum for that attack.
Will Downing is commentating on another match now :o Setanta must be in a bad way.
Will be interesting to see how both Argentina and Brazil react to their slow starts - well it better be interesting anyway because the first 3 games were dire.
For all the depth of attacking talent that Argentina have they didn’t link particulalry well the other night. Aguero added a dimension when he came on so he’ll surely start but ahead of Lavezzi or Tevez? The former looked more dangerous I thought, though I was particularly drunk watching the game, but he was the one who was withdrawn and Tevez is a bigger name in the team.
They also need to decide on what to do with a midfield that didn’t function. I’ve never really liked Di Maria playing as deep as he did in the second half the other night. I think he’s a good player and a decent candidate to play as one of the attacking three, even though that’s an area where there’s lots of alternatives. And while the Mascherano-Cambiasso-Banega axis wasn’t particularly effective in the first half, the solution doesn’t seem to be Di Maria who is too wide and not robust enough to play as part of a three man midfield. I don’t think Argentina have the midfielders to play like Barcelona and they can’t get away with someone as flighty as Di Maria in midfield. Not sure Barca could either but at least they could control possession. Gago might be a better alternative to Di Maria as someone who can be a bit more creative but can play centrally.
Brazil were better than Argentina I thought but will have to be concerned at how they fell apart in the second half. Again the centre of midfield is a worry, or should be. Ramires and Lucas were effective early on and set a good tempo but their touch wasn’t good enough (on a crap surface) to control the game as it progressed. Ganso had started brightly but disappeared as the game went on and Brazil started to play too direct. They looked like they’d score on the counter attack or not at all, until they introduced Fred when they slowed down again.
I was very surprised to see Pato taken off. He was easily the best of the attackers on the night, looked most likely to score and linked play much better than Robinho or Neymar. Robinho’s place is probably in danger now but it’s hard to know who the threat is - either Lucas or Elano probably. The one thing they can’t afford to do is bring Fred on again. His touch was cumbersome and he never even looked like scoring.
Zabaleta is replacing Rojo in the Argentinian defence for the game against Colombia on Wednesday. Front 3 will be unchanged apparently.
Peru take a shock lead against Uruguay. Was boring up to now and was about to fuck off to bed. Might wait another while now.
