Cork GAA - The march towards being obvious Munster Champions

Used to have the 91 Munster final draw and reply on video when I was younger. Seemed like Ger got a goal every few minutes. RIP

My memory of Ger Fitzgerald is shorts pulled up really high and these long skinny legs absolutely flying like a cartoon character’s legs. That was an iconic Cork team. Hennessy, Fitzgibbon, Tony Sullivan, JBM, Fenton, Teddy Mac. Cool as fuck in the Barry’s tea jerseys.

He was one of them cork fellas who didn’t look as if he was gonna be a threat. And then bang, you’re were done for 3 goals and it was done

Don’t think that entire group ever played a game together

That was some Midleton team. They absolutely destroyed Mount Sion in Walsh Park.

This was some game too. The first 10 minutes are as good as I’ve ever seen.

86 was close I’d say. They surely all won AI medals that year.

It was JBMs last game, Teddy Mac’s first, and Fitzgibbon didn’t play

The Barry’s tea jersey didn’t come for about 6 more years as well

But it was a good post anyway :grinning:

To be fair Ken Hogan let most of them trickle between his legs.

Cashel v Midleton in Mitchelstown….

The Cork & Tipp panelist dotted about the crowd, an awesome day for young Harold.

Yeah, nothing flashy but the kind of fella that would break your heart in an instant.

I was at that.

they had a good few of them in the 1984 to 1992 era

Seanie Leary, JBM, Mulcahy, Hennessy, Fitzgibbon, Fitzgerald

They had about 4 on every team

CoB red card overturned.

I’m shocked Healy isn’t starting. I wonder has he an injury that has been kept under wraps? 1-05 from play and not to start again is strange. Mullins not being on the bench at least is disappointing.

Good to see Connolly and Harnedy back on the bench.

He was supposed to be very friendly with the young fella from Midleton who died, maybe that has something to do with it

It is i believe.

Coleman back half-back. No Mullins on the bench.

It does
