Went down a McDonald rabbit hole on YouTube last night. His second Captain’s interview is interesting re developing young players. He is looking for the young kid that stands back and surveys rather than the child in the middle of the heap.

There’s a very short list of possibilities for that accolade but it’s pointless as the game is completely different

I’ve told this story before but my father is a Tippo. He worked in Cork in the 70s and 80s so was at the end of a lot of slagging as it was a lean spell for Tipp. And he is ADAMANT that had JBM not retired in 1986, Tipp would have ended no famine in 87
