Cork, the softest of cunts (Part 1)

Amazes me the amount of lads in the crowd that leave their caps on during it

Ye should have won that day allright. Thought that underage combo was producing players?

For Dungourney, yeah.

Douglas very poor tonight. They would be my favourites for relegation based on what I saw.

Barrs were good without being great but they didn’t have to be. It was puzzling to watch the amount of uncontested puckouts for both teams. Twomey and Buckley had good outings.

I think the Barrs and Sars are the two strongest teams in this (Imokilly aside) with Midleton a level behind them.

They were scandalous

A fella missed the pick up on a free at one stage and he almost missed it when he went to pull on it! Pitch didn’t look great

O’Neills were actually worse. Old team, on the slide.

Cracker between Kileagh and Na Pairsaigh tonight. Game of the weekend by a distance.

Who won?

Looked a very small crowd

Killeagh by two iirc

Would love to have Clubber but can’t fork out on the 100 plus euros right now. Looking at reports, seems like the following lads stood out this weekend:

Brian O’Sullivan (Kanturk)
Daire Connery (Na Piarsaigh)
Barry Walsh (Killeagh)
William Buckley (St. Finbarrs)

Would be interesting to see if Brian O’Sullivan is brought back in, he can score from range which we need.

He looked the business in the two games I saw him in for Cork 20s against Clare and Limerick.

Kileagh by 2.

Great service to be fair. Connery and Walsh were excellent.

Robbie Cotter also v good for Blackrock I thought …also a fella called Ryan sweeney was good but know nowt about him

Will be interesting to see if Connery gets another call up. He started one game under Kingston and was never seen again. Was highly highly rated underage along with Evan Sheehan.

Ive seen him twice this year. Very good, was always a back but in forwards now.

He has all the hurling for it, as does O’Sullivan.

Barry Walsh is an interesting one. Still u20 next year, and Cork’s policy in recent years has been in the main to keep players focused on their own age unless they are obvious challengers to start on the Senior team. It would be interesting to see how he would cope at senior but he certainly has the physique for it. No harm to have him training with the seniors and see how he fares.

In general, I think the panel is in need of a facelift. The u20 crop from 2020-2024 should be even more prominent next year in the makeup of the panel, subs and 15.

I’ll see you on the 15th
