There wouldn’t be many Hugo’s in liscaroll…or church town!

That’s Cork 2?

Yeah.

The rumour mill is gathering pace and the word is that Starmer’s advisor, Morgan McSweeney, a Corkman, is the man who advocated in the strongest terms for the appointment of US Ambassador Peter Mandelson. A misguided act up there with the events of Saipan.

Who in the sweet fuck thinks it is a good idea to hire fucking Peter Mandelson in 2025?

The rumour is that Corkman Morgan McSweeney does

You’d wonder what is going through the mind of anyone who thinks such a thing. Fucking bizarre.

What in god’s name is driving this…feels completely tone deaf when the number of amalgamations are growing and growing

In duhallow there is barely a club fielding on their own at underage level. There is one combination in Duhallow in existence for 50 years!

A question for the Cork posters. 7 years ago when your new CEO / county secretary / Frank’s replacement was appointed, Kevin O’Donovan, the rest of us were warned that the red wave was just starting, he was so brilliant that soon enough all other counties would be wasting our time. 7 all Ireland hurling titles later, all won by Munster counties, and we’re still waiting? What went wrong, not as brilliant as ye thought, or brilliant but stymied by mediocrity all around him? With your hurling tradition and population size, how the fuck are ye going on 21 years with no senior hurling title, it’s fucking bizarre. But most enjoyable for the rest of us who have often been told we’re so unlucky in life to not be from Cork.

Is there a question in that or is it just a Sunday morning poke to brighten up your day

Here you go bud…

ā€˜What went wrong’

I see very little effort to promote hurling with youngest age groups outside of what each club can do themselves. in my young lads school which is a large rural school …there are 42 in his class for example split in two groups…there is no hurling whatsoever played in the school

The club has hurling but done within the club by volunteers of mixed skill levels. Several friends of mine for example would have said to me after playing their club in blitzes about the amount of our young lads holding the hurley wrong etc…the basics.

This is the club’s fault first and foremost but they are mainly football and I can’t see any effort or resource that is available to be coming in and improving this…I assume there is zero funding available.

Cork isn’t just a hurling team mate :man_shrugging:

I can’t answer your question because I’m not involved or aware of the situation at nuts and bolts level but it’s bloody hard to win one.

I’d actually be more bothered about the football situation,

I know of not one person that hearld his arrival. He seemed to have got the job off the back of producing a document of what was wrong with Cork GAA.

I know nowt about KOD really but how much of his week is dealing with driving on the stadium Vs what’s happening on the pitch… Id say the job is not what he envisaged
