Theyāre right about avoiding the city and going Blarney to Ballincollig but you can also slip on to the south link from Ballincollig and then shoot off on the n71 dual carriageway to Crossbarryā¦ You want to avoid the city centre and Inishannon, the latter can be a right bottle neck on a Friday not to mind a bank holiday weekend
Guarantee to scratch the car. Avoid at that time of day. Better off going Blarney to the maradyke and sit in traffic
Going to go cross country but will stop for food on the way. Not a route Iād ever have travelled fully. The Highland for a shift or Dromahane for a p2p would be as far as Iāve ventured. Anywhere for grub in the late afternoon around Kanturk?

The haggart in freemount does v good food
Bobs in Kanturk is ok and there are a few decent cafes (Thomas browns or cafe bia) but might be closed depending what time you are on
If your coming through Kanturk sat nav will give you few optionsā¦take the millstreet, macroom, lissarda, enniskeane routeā¦better roads (slightly)

Also if youāre in clon well worth heading down to long strand for fish and chipsā¦will be busy but this place is unrealā¦lovely beach and dunes there but no swimming at the beach at long strand where it isā¦fine beach for swimming few hundred yards up the road
