Meads is fit, McLoughlin is out.

Meade will tear them apart, again.

If Waterford have not found an able replacement they could be in big trouble.

What they need is another brick. Not as mobile obviously but his positional sense is outstanding. Another option is Conor Gleeson or Barron although breaking up that midfield may not be the wisest. Really impressed with the way Gleeson is coming on and he is a good foil to Barron.

Kevin Moran is another option. So they have options. No matter what it is they have to rob Peter to pay Paul though as i canā€™t see a sub being capable of that role.

Get it wrong and Cork could be 8-10 points up before anyone knows whats happening

Conor Gleeson has been playing as a man marking defender despite his shirt number. He was on Conor McDonald the last day, got grief from Cork sombrero wearing supporters on the field in Thurles for paying close attention to Alan Cadogan and I canā€™t remember who he was marking against Kilkenny. Darragh Fives, Kevin Moran and around 4 others are the lads accompanying Barron in midfield.

Where did McDonald play? Gleeson was out in the middle for a large chunk of 2nd half and cleared a pile of ball, breaking in particular.

And was midfield against Cork as well

Mainly wing forward with a brief stint in the two man full forward line before being taken off.

Edit: He marked Richie Hogan in the Kilkenny game and definitely hasnā€™t been playing midfield.

Iā€™m struggling to figure out who would be the best replacement for the De Burca role (if it comes to him missing the game). Thereā€™s been a tendency in some quarters to downplay it and say ā€œsure anyone could excel with nobody to markā€ but De Burca is unreal and prevents untold with his positional sense, aerial ability, mobility and general awareness and screening. The protection he offers Coughlan is immense - Tyrrell touched on their relationship / understanding in his column last Friday. Heā€™s had the very rare bad game (e.g. 2016 Munster Final) but De Burca is exceptional and I donā€™t think anyone can easily slot in there and retain the smooth relationships with the other defenders around the sweeper position.

How advanced is the de Burca appeal process at this stage?

Canā€™t wait for the DRA report next Saturday week @ 3 am .

Waterford will beat cork cork arenā€™t battle hardened

Mushrooms Joe, Cork never needed to be battle hardened,
Anyway theyā€™re plenty battle hardened, and theyā€™re better than Waterford, which means a lot

Yes the ignorance out there is unbelievable.

Heā€™s a joy to watch and what harm but he was employed as a man marker during his Harty Cup days.

Whatever you say

Itā€™s ok, Michael Duignan doesnā€™t post here, mateā€¦Stop digging in defending the sweeper system.

They beat Tipp, Waterford and Clare but theyā€™re not battle hardened? Waterford lost to Cork, and beat two average Leinster teams but are battle hardened? Fuck off out of it Joe.

You heard here cork wonā€™t win any all Ireland this year fact

That may be so, Joe - But how you can say Waterford are battle hardened and Cork arenā€™t is bizarre - Cork have had a break yes, theyā€™ve had two tough games and a game against Clare also.
