Cork weirdo/sicko thread

Cork is a desperate looking place. You know it and it’s eating you up inside.

Sounds good. Just booked it there.

Have you been there in past 2 years?

Its fucking alive.

Another 10 years it will be untouchable when its all tidied up

A really great testimonial .

Jesus Christ you’re absolutely seething for no particular reason
I left Cork behind 20 years ago, I have no idea what you’re talking about, looks like a nice city to me on my occasional visits.

Is the Lobby bar still going Kev. I used to like that spot.

Many Magic nights in there, long gone.

That’s a shame.

They haven’t been able to tidy the place for hundreds of years. They’ll hardly manage it in 10.

It’s very grey and dilapidated

The only tidying it gets is when the River Lee gives it a wash every couple of years

Alive it might be but it still looks a desperate ugly city, it’s all over the place, no shape nor make to the buildings or planning, the river is even horrible looking. I’m afraid those things can’t be tidied up so simply. It’s a bit of a kip to be fair. Pity really.

What city/town on the mainland would you say it most resembles mate?

Bradford with all the hills and shit run down building

Patrick Street is a lovely thoroughfare. Probably the nicest thoroughfare in the country. It has the scale of O’Connell St and the ambiance of Grafton Street. South Mall is lovely too.
I also like the buzz around Oliver Plunkett St.

What % of Cork’s population is Muslim ?

There’s a very British feel to the centre of Cork City, I’ll give you that. Patrick’s street is ok,only ok. The rest could do with being bulldosed

Easily the best urban centre in ireland
