The final column tho is misleading as it refers to the % of hospital admissions that ended up in ICU as opposed to the % of overall cases that ended up there.
So for 35-44 years , 8% chance of us ending up in hospital with a 0.7% chance of ending up in ICU - yeah this isnt really the data that NEPHET would present to encourage a lockdown really…

even those lads 65-74 ( the people who are locked up “cocooning” - 17% chance of hospital, 5% chance of ICU… Id like to see those numbers now for that subset for the annual flu also .
again 75-84 , ICU is 5% , but we are in the realm of nursing homes now and id imagine we are into death territory here so ICU/hospitals are lower
Ill say it again - can they not just lock down nursing home, ,make impregnable to the virus

You have your maths wrong there. The above doesn’t say 17% chance of hospital for 65-74 year olds, it says of all patients hospitalised 17% were in that age bracket. It’s no wonder you have been hounding poor @Copper_pipe to do your homework.

provide adequate PPE for staff and visitors.
If masks are as effective as claimed surely a controlled environment where staff are given adequate PPE (not masks btw…) will minimise transmission in those settings.
we have to realistic here. playing chicken with this thing and these attempts to suppress this virus in general population are futile and the consequences are highly impactful on people.
I cant see what the issue is with locking down nursing homes and issuing hazmat type PPE to staff and visitors…it will save lives

off top of my head so @Halfpipe from your feedback there it should be then 65-74 have a 29% chance of hospitalisation - for 35-44 its about a 5.3% hit rate
This bint and Jedward are apparently in favour of restrictions that lockdown the entire population for a virus that kills some 84 year olds. That’s what you’re up againat here.
