Tony Cascarino is buzzing.

I think it’s pretty obvious this coup is going to fail. Erdogan will make serious political capital out of it in Turkey and it’ll be spun as having Russian interference. No knowing what impact it’ll have in terms of dividing the population, possible bloodshed and increased Islamism.

I’m going to say the coup will succeed

Since the banning of @tasotti the world has gone into anarchy.

If it is actually the full Turkish military they’ll succeed. They are like the Germans when it comes to penalties in terms of coups.

@rocko caused this

They’re a great bunch of lads. There’s fuck all else on the telly tonight and the lads start a civil war.
Any other country would do it on a Wednesday morning or some awkward time.
Gotta love their timing.
I wonder how the tv ratings will compare to other coups.

There’s a real smell of sulphur and bosphorous about the current situation.

Get @Tim_Riggins on the case

The Turkish Army won’t be beaten.

The military never feared coups.

I don’t think it is.
Would they not have closed both routes on the bridge if they had the entire army behind them ? I’m thinking the talk of it only being a relatively small faction of the army might be correct. They don’t seem to have huge numbers out from the clips we’ve seen.
