Croke Park - This Sunday

I shall be attending my first ever camogie game!

Wexford versus Cork in the All Ireland Senior Final.

Luckily for me the U21 Hurling Final between Dublin and Galway is also on.

I have premium tickets so I plan on nipping up into the bar after the hurling and getting locked while laughing at the camogie match.

Women getting to play on the sacred Croke Park turf - that makes my blood boil even more than those rugby matches earlier this year.

I enjoyed the camogie yesterday and I’d rather see a Wexford team win an All Ireland than not so congratulations to them. Cork had been in seven of the last eight finals and were going for three-in-a-row so it was quite an achievement to get the better of them. Some of the skills were very good while certain facets of the game weren’t as impressive but overall it was quite a decent standard and enjoyable right to the end. The last four points Wexford took from play were smashing and the Cork midfielder scored three outstanding points too. The Wexford defending was excellent - tight, tigerish and disciplined as a unit - and Leacy took her goals wonderfully. The Stillorgan Park Hotel was full of Wexford legends from all codes and eras last night, including Derek Howlin formerly of St Martin’s Piercestown, and it was great to witness. Maybe the ladies’ achievements will inspire the hurlers for next year?

Have any of you ever used the Mater Hospital for parking on match day?

7 euro online booking before hand so your guaranteed a space.

I’ll be tight for time on Sunday mornings so wont be hitting the city till around 1pm or so and just thinking traffic could be a cunt.

Might be better park further out?

Park in leixlip or maynooth and get the train in, you’ll pay 4 euro for parking in maynooth, fiver or so for the train but it’ll save you a lot of hassle after. Just make sure there’s a train to suit your late arrival time. Also reduces your possible contact time with the zombies of the North inner city.

Look to get the train to drumcondra too. Although Connolly isn’t too far of a walk either.

It’s the same train, Drumcondra is the stop before Connolly

KP,
head in the N4 and park at maynooth and get the train in to drumcondra. #northkildare
taking the car in is madness

You can park at my gaff, 3 euro all day rate, get the dart in then straight to Connolly. I’ll throw in a fresh cup of tea to have with the sandwiches when you get here

KP - park up in that luxury hotel you often frequent in Liffey Valley and one of the stoneheads will organise a lift in and back for you

I don’t think all trains stop there though

kp.stay at home. Dont bother watching this shot

Mater car park sounds like a great option. Clerys car park on Sean McDermott St and the ILAc Car Park would be handy enough as well.

There might be more than one shot though.

Around Dalymount Park is usually fine to park and it’s free. Approach it via Infirmary Road and the North Circular Road. About 20 minutes of a walk down.

If you’re there early enough you should be able to get a space somewhere around Iona Road or the roads off it, which is a bit nearer and a handy walk down.

Cat got your tongue @Kinvara’s Passion?
