Tesla made more profit trading Bitcoin than they have selling cars.

Elon would want to be very careful he isn’t done for market manipulation

Manipulating the Tesla share price as manipulating the crypto market is entirely legal?

He’s entitled to buy bitcoin, he’s entitled to say it’s great etc. it’ a lot more grey when he starts pumping bitcoin before he has announced that Tesla have taken a big chunk of it to the market.
Imagine Warren Buffett bought a load of Google shares, then before he announced it to the market in his quarterly report was going around telling everyone to buy google shares. It’s a very thin line to the SEC saying that’s insider trading/market manipulation

SEC doesn’t regulate Bitcoin though so can’t be done for manipulating that market.

Again, it’s grey enough there. They are suing the crowd behind XRP and have prosecuted a number of other smaller shit coin owners. So they do have regulatory powers. But it’s all a bit blurry at the moment. Though Joe Biden is expected to bring in a whole raft of legislation around crypto soon enough.

I think it’s unlikely Musk will get in trouble, but it would probably be through Tesla rather than Bitcoin alright for the moment.

Musk would be well advised to stay off the twitter.

Whales manipulate the market all the time. Go back up there, I posted a link earlier in the week where there was a case of clear manipulation. Another example in part 7 days is JP Morgan said one thing last week, entirely different this week and profit from the confusion. But while perhaps immoral, it’s not illegal as it’s currently beyond regulation.

Same case here. There’s no legal standing to go after Elon for talking up various cryptos as wrong as it might feel seeing him do it.

A fool and @Appendage’s money are easily parted.
