Current World XI

It’s been done before but who’d be your current world XI? I’d go:

Couldn’t think of full backs really but fook it those two boys will do.

Had another XI typed out and realised I was a bit Bundesliga heavy (I did have Mertesacker and Diego in there too). Wouldn’t have too many complaints about your team Clarkey but:

  1. haven’t seen enough of Richards
  2. haven’t seen that much of Nesta but he wasn’t great against Celtic
  3. Don’t think Cannavaro is that good anymore
  4. I know we’re not too involved in formations but I think Ronaldo gets lost sometimes when he has that sort of right sided forward role - it means he just loses any sort of shape.
  5. There’s no outstanding candidate for striker really, Toni is in cracking form though.

Christ almighty. I had him in there then changed it around a bit and ended up leaving him out.

There is not 11 players performing better in the world game at the moment, breathtaking. Might be a bit EPL centric but I don’t watch much continental football, bar some La Liga.

Clarkey - would you really have Henry in your current World? Really? Certainly in the last few years but he’s past it at this stage and never scored in a major final.

Not a bad side. I’d maybe stick Robin Van Persie in there for Walcott though.

don’t think henry is up to much anymore, i lilke the look of that alves chap who plays up front for valencia. abidal is rubbish too.
