Pogacar spanked them all again. Makes the time trial performance even more bizarre. Albeit maybe even he is susceptible to a bad day on the bike.

He gave an interview before Thursday stage where he said he wasn’t too worried about the Time Trial performance as he hadn’t spent much time at all on the TT bike because of the spring classics and that he feels he has enough time between now and the TdF to fine tune his position etc.
He feels he could find the 15-20 seconds he lost to Jonas and that the arrears to Remco is to be expected as Remco is on another level in the TT.
I’d say it’s the others that are a bit worried after today. Jonas esp looked to be in a world of hurt, Pog looked like he had his fingers in his nose.

Healy in the break in the Dauphine. Last stage
The Tour starts today. 185km starting and finishing in Lille. Will be one for the sprinters, Millan, Phillipsen or Merlier fancied. Also potential for gaps in the peloton with a bit of wind. And crashes of course. There is one extra team added so will make the roads even more cramped. A proper Tour with no cross border excursions. First ten days mainly flat. Healy and Dunbar the Irish. Merlier will win today.

A more punchy stage into Boulogne Sur Mer today. Some rain showers around, a few crashed already. Today is one for the big dogs like Van der Poel. I fancy Quinn Simmons today.

How has Dunbar lost that time already?
I think he crashed yesterday but on Saturday Visma busted the peloton open in the cross winds. Once the break went a lot of fellas just pulled the pin. Simon Yates won the Giro and he lost six minutes. Dunbar is there really to support Ben O’Connor and sniff out a stage win. Ben Healy made the big split on Saturday but lost around a minute yesterday.

They’re blaming Coquard. Opens up the sprints for Girmay and Milan now.
