Did you come up the hill in Phibsboro ?

I did not. Mostly round the park

I got two fcuking blowout punctures today in quick succession. First on a 25% descent. :grimacing:
A good Samaritan stopped as I was walking towards a pals house with the bike on my shoulder, and gave me a spare tube. I think the second was weakened as it had been in my parts bottle for two years.
The first was a latex tube. Avoid like the plague. Weak useless things.

Back wheel?

25% is like Patrick’s Hill, that’s a steep hill to be coming down, hope you’re alright mate

Front. When it blew I thought it was my pal in fronts tyre at first. Luckily was well on the brakes at the time as the road swings left and gravelly.

I’m here to tell the tale, thanks. Some day I’ll show you exactly where it happened.
There’s a hill in the peak District called winnats pass which is iirc 750m dead straight 25%.
If your cleat comes out going up, you can’t get going again at all unless you go downhill first and try and swing around.

Ps I thoroughly recommend 25 tyres on the road bike. First time out on them yesterday. Apart from the punctures, which were tube related really, they feel great.

Lucky enough so.

When can cycling clubs start to do club spins again in Ireland does anyone know?

It was. It was really lucky as I’d gone down that 60mph descent not that long before it.
My pal went home to get his car, and I was cold so started walking along the valley when another lad on a bike stopped and gave me a spare tube and I was away. Was just at the bottom of the vicious climb out when my pal arrived in the car, laughed, and said he wasn’t giving me a lift up the hill, and I’d to cycle up it.

Unclear. The French asked for an exemption. There are plenty of pairs out in the peaks, and loads of singles, more each day, but no groups as yet.

Without masks?

Sure they just tip the plastic hat forward.

When did rules start to apply to cyclists?

All cycling clubs have followed the rules to the letter of the law

Just for purposes of disclosure, @Mac is a member of a cycling club.

Breezy this morning, did 65k but the wind seemed to be against me in every direction except one, I assume this is common enough?

I find myself imagining myself doing an Ironman in a couple of years. Need to brush up on the swim, never swam properly in open water

Very common about the wind coming in all directions. Today is especially breezy. I’m planning on a run as I have to get a slow puncture fixed on the car and can do it then, not looking forward to running into that wind out there. It’ll build character I suppose
