Saw this on my twitter feed. A Kimmage article with the Martin family from a couple of weeks ago:

Makes the day all the sweeter.
Agreed, delighted for both
Do Roche and Martin get on or is there a bit of a family feud going on?
They have a distinctly frosty relationship as far as I know. No real animosity but donāt think theyāre close and the parents certainly donāt seem to be best buddies.
I thank God for my strong relationship with croppy and Raymond Crotty when I see other families in turmoil. Though, as count of monte cristo once confessed, āwe canāt all be lucky: for every Croppy thereās a croppy_boy.ā

Pyrenees tomorrow. Chance for Dan Martin I reckon. The steep climbs there might suit him more than the Alps.
Great call Balbec.
Just watched it again there. That was a great win. Ice cool at the finish as well. For me the encouraging thing today was that Sky had a 'mare. It was good to see Froome being attacked and it was good to see that he or Porte are not the supermen they looked like yesterday. (Whether I believe that the Spanish attacking them were clean is another question). Martin can be optimistic of a top ten finish and maybe top 5 a lot of fancied riders are out of contention already. He is fortunate in that there are not a lot of individual TT kms this year. This race will be a cracker yet.
Was going to ask you boys about what can be concluded after the first two mountain stages alright in terms of race cleanliness. Surely a bit suspect to see the Team Sky lads (some of them not renowned climbers) powering up the climbs yesterday and burning mountain specialists and GC contenders? But, on the other hand, the fact that most of them were completely spent today in the aftermath is probably an encouraging sign? I see yer man Kiryienka finished outside the time limit and is eliminated from the race so Froome might be lacking support in the Alps. Not sure what to make of the likes of Schleck, Contador and Evans up at the front today.

Kimmageās latest magnum opus. Locke will be seething when he reads this.

Kelly is certainly part of the problem with the sport now. Heās at the top of the list of ex-cyclists who never admit there is a problem or was a problem. Itās impossible to believe he could be so naive, heās manipulative and deliberately hiding the truth from everyone.
Martinās mother who is Stephen Rocheās sister has not talked to Roche for a good few years apparently-there is no relationship between Nicolas and Martin.
They are always tweeting to each other on twitter
Really? That doesnāt tally with Kimmageās article on this last week.
How else would they tweet each other, other than āon twitterā?
Who is the better cyclist Roche or Martin?
Some of the people on here come across as the slow type so Iām going to err on the side of caution and bee as descriptive as possibel.
Started watching at 10:30am yesterday and watched the whole lot while polishing off breakfast, lunch, a Snickers Ice Cream and a few beers. Absolutely amazing day. I told my lady heād win it that morning. Sure he said it in the Irish Times on Saturday and on his Twitter. When he tweets that a course or stage suits him and that heās feeling good in the future, I think Iāll start lumping money on. Pretty sure he said something very similar before L-B-L.
Thought that was a very shit stirring article to be honest. Family stuff should be private.
Martin without a shadow of a doubt.
Yes so did I-it was fairly childish from Kimmage and seemed to be some sort of point scoring look at me Iām friends with the good guys type article.
