Cycling 2013

Tom Veelers it was Blake, cavendish should be demoted here. He’s lucky there wasn’t more involved on the crash or he could be disqualified.

It will be interesting to see what the commissaires decide to do alright. Cav’s name plus the fact that Veelers wasn’t completely blameless might see him get away with a slap on the wrist

50 50 to me. Veelers was easing off trying to block Cav who was left with too much to do anyway. Some finish from Kittel though, look at the ground he made up on Greipel.

Indeed, it was a superb sprint from him. Illustrated the reason why Greipel will never be a dominant sprinter too. Everything has to go right for him and he doesn’t deal with imperfect set-ups well, his timing was a small bit out too, went too early again. Kittel has real potential to become a major force in sprinting, a very exciting prospect.

Individual time trial today. Stage favourite Tony Martin has put up an impressive time, Froome is surely the only man who can beat it.

Reports on the course that somebody threw a cup of piss over Mark Cavendish. Scummy cunt whoever did that.

Cyclists will do anything to keep the testers away from their samples these days.

Lovely stage today, Avranches to Mont St Michel. Avranches is a lovely Norman citadel on top of a hill and contains numerous monuments to Patton who liberated it in 1944.

Dan Martin starts at 3:33.

What’s his time trialling ability like? Will he need a good stint in the Alps to maintain a top ten spot or can he hold his own when it comes to time trials?

He will lose time today, kid. Couple of minutes down would be a good result. The worry would be if it was three or more.

Martin doing ok, inside the top 35 at the first split.

An absolute disaster for Andy Schleck who rolls over the line in 109th nearly 5 mins behind.

Froome goes through the first checkpoint with the fastest time, he’s going to blow this race apart today.

Chalk it fucking down he will.

Fell away a bit. Currently 55th with only the 7 ahead of him to finish. He finished 3 36" behind Tony Martin.

Could have been worse. Nico did a similar time I think.

Martin down to 13th, 5’52" behind

Nico was a minute quicker than Dan, finished in 28th, not a surprise though, he’s always been stronger against the clock.

Delighted Froome didn’t win the stage, I hate the prick. Looks like I’ll have to pray for a mechanical to stop him winning it…

That’s decent from Nico actually. Some interesting times alright. Andy Schleck had a disaster. Contador bad as well.

Yeah Schleck was appalling. I’d say the profile didn’t suit Contador, too flat. I was disappointed in Rui Costa, he was well below where I was expecting. I had put a small few bob on Castroviejo too as I though he could surprise everyone, but he only finished 10th. Not bad I suppose, but still
