âHe might be playing me, I donât know. My daughter makes these duck tape wallets and made one for Lance, which was yellow with the number seven on it.
He sounds like a simpleton.
Just after reading more of that piece now and I was too kind on it first time around.
âThere is a great movie to be made yet, a kind of sporting Zero Dark Thirty. It wonât have any input from Armstrong, who got to say his unchallenged piece for a decade and a half, but it will have plenty from Walsh and Kimmage and the Andreus and Travis Tygart of the United States Anti-Doping Agency and Greg LeMond and Tyler Hamilton and everyone who finally brought the curtain down on the whole sorry travesty.â
I hate Lance as much as the next man but what makes Tyler Hamilton that much more worthy of our repect? He cheated just the same, his lies were just as (or more) brazen, he only âcame cleanâ when he had no other choice. Iâm glad he did and he made the final exposure of Lance possible, but you would need a fairly warped and shallow view of the cycling world to portray Lance and Tyler as opposite ends of the good-evil spectrum.
He just doesnât budge from his initial assessment that this is a move about Lance looking for redemption. Maybe I was helped by reading and hearing interviews with Gibney but itâs ridiculous to beat him with the same stick that heâs so fortright about - yes he was cheering Lance up Mont Ventoux and yes he lost his journalistic integrity - but thatâs the fucking film. I think this clown Sweeney thinks heâs uncovered some great mystery in Gibneyâs initial admiration for Lance. Thatâs the fucking film you halfwit.
Jaysis, Rocko, now I donât even want to read that piece to waste a couple of minutes. Sweeney can be good sometimes. Obviously not in this case. And if thereâs one thing I hate itâs sportswriters who know fuck all about cycling, writing about cycling.
Looks good. Would be interested to hear what Berzin has to say. Despite being on one of the most doped teams ever in Gewiss, his subsequent demise would perhaps indicate that he turned his back on doping. Though, thatâs just purely me speculating.
He does indeed. Emma o Reilly is back in the fold too I hear.
That is exactly the kind of fawning that rocko refers to in his excellent post on the gibney documentary.
Stephen Roche is going to be Grand Marshall of the Dublin Parade. I suppose we are just going to forget about the other thing now I suppose.
Itâll only be a matter of time before our greatest ever Olympian gets the gig.

If youâre referring to Seashell Myth, Iâll personally ensure she gets no day in the limelight.
Well that the end of that so.

He has a great chance of winning it if he is still on the hot sauce.
