Czech Republic vs Ireland

Andy Reid is in for the absent Stephen Ireland and it’s an otherwise unchanged side. Lots of players need to up their games massively for us to have any chance.

I’m predicting a 2-1 defeat.

Im hopeful enough - 2-1 or 3-1 victory for Stan’s men

I predict a draw. Prefer to see Hunt at LM, Kilbane move back to LB, Kelly move to RB and O’Shea to get outta my face but there ya go.

I’d like to see O’Shea out too actually.

I’d probably go:

Given;
Dunne;
Keogh; Reid; Carsley; McGeady; Kilbane; Hunt;
Long; Keane; Doyle;

and play for the draw.

Agree with that team. Can see us winning tomorrow for whatever reason. We will be forced to go for it which might suit us.

Anyone see the tripe Stan’s being coming out with in the papers today to justify leaving Reid out the other night? Saying the pitch wouldn’t have suited a skillful player like him (I would have thought a heavy pitch would have complemented Reid perfectly - boom tish) while ignoring the fact he picked similarly small, physically weak players in midfield like Ireland and McGeady for the game.

In fact Strachan left Aiden out of the away game in Moscow last month due to the heavy/sticky pitch conditions and his replacement, Paul Hartley, scored the crucial away goal. Strachan sat down both players individually and explained his decision a couple of days in advance of the game. That’s the difference between proper management and what Stan’s at. He’s basically making it up as he goes along and his explanations and reasoning for selections/tactics are almost as downright awful as the performances his team have delivered. Huge pressure on him tonight.

Raven, I want to officially lodge my concern at the number of occasions you’re agreeing with me lately.

you have made a number of valid points recently

“Leaving Hunt out is just wrong and anyone with a sound football mind would not contest what John, Liam and I has just said” - Eamonn Dunphy

“This guy is trying to defy football gravity” - Eamonn Dunphy

“He’ll lose his job” - Eamonn Dunphy

The lads were game but not really good enough. It’s time to say goodbye to Stan and I actually think Andrea Bocelli would be quicker to spot our deficiencies and sort them out than him. Dunphy was smashing entertainment after the game and I look forward to seeing it again on youtube. In fairness to Stan, he’s not going to resign as his level is reserve team coach at Walsall and you don’t get 500k a year for that. It’s time for the FAI to act but I don’t really have any confidence that they will.

Classic Eamo rant last night. Bill would you let him drive the train to Cork. At times like that they should just let him go on and on.

I certainly wouldnt let Dunphy drive the train to Cork judging by his record behind the wheel…gulp gulp

Dunphy is the top boy.

Delaney out.

I remember a good while ago I laid into McGeady for being sh!te. Well guess what I was right then and Im still right. He may be able to dance around Falkirk and Inverness but he’s hopeless otherwise. Scotland can have him back but they wouldnt want him.

Driving a train drunk is like going to the bar for another pint, piece of piss!

he is underperforming for Ireland but brown mcmanus & hartley were all outstanding last night & he is evry bit a player as they are- to say he is shit is naive - he will come good
