The image floating around of Davy grabbing Fordes helmet was photoshopped I presume. Watched the incident back again on TG4 and canāt see him raising his hands to Fordes head.
Looked like the grab he did for Jim Bobs head after he was assaulted by the LK thug a few years ago.
I made that point once that picture surfaced. Itās odd how the picture is doing the rounds more so than the actual video. The video of the āconfrontationā is harmless enough, the picture looks awful.
Heās in bother because he shouldnt have been out there at all. And regardless of the stupid Tipp players coming at him, he shouldnt have reacted to them either. You cant have managers just walk out onto the field whenever they want.
Niall OāMeara was within his rights to tell him to fuck off the field but Forde had no business getting involved regardless of Davy giving Niall a gentle elbow.
Did Brian Cody come on to the field in 2004 v Galway to have a go at the ref?
I thought I remember him running in onto the field but I might be wrong.
Iāll never forget a Dublin v Wexford game in Nowlan Park in the early 1990s when a Wexford player got absolutely clobbered across the head and no one was sent off, resulting in the then Co Chairman Paddy Wickham coming onto the pitch to have a go at the referee.
If he did, he did. Personally, I dont give a shit about what a manager did 13 years ago. Sure Cody was famously beside the Kilkenny goalmouth in 2004 as well, he had no business being there either, but rules changed over time to stop that kind of stuff.
What Davy did was totally wrong IMO. I know he had reason for it, but I dont agree with the method of it.
No worse than what Damian Barton did last year and he got eight weeks only from from the sideline during games, full involvement in training was permitted.
I donāt see what the big deal was about Regans comments, heās an ignoramus as most Offaly people tend to be, but I didnāt believe he went over the top either. Jamesie was quite reasoned. I dont see why there would be any big fuss about it as some posters suggested.
