Davy Fitz- a thread for the non-believers

I’m aware of these little incentives. My question was does he have an income stream outside this managing teams/fleecing county boards/fittest family shenanigans? I think he’s a bit fond of the limelight for his own good but what official jobs do these top managers have?

Speaking events is another one.

I remember John Cleese once said it’s easier make money from corporate speeches than acting.

What has Davy to offer at this stage? A fairly brutal modern track record for starters. The cv is fairly threadbare since 2019 Leinster win with Wexford. Two awful last years with Wexford in 2020 and 2021. Two years with Waterford in 2022 and 2023 where they failed to get out of true group stages in Munster both years and a league relegation. Then two dismal years with Antrim, relegation from the Liam McCarthy Cup ranks in 2025 and a failure to get out of the group stages of Joe McDonagh in 2026.

I would not be one bit surprised if he went back with Wexford yet next year.

Would be more in his line to “crack hurling” again. He’s done it before by blowing a winnable game against 14 man opposition coming off a provincial final hiding.

I think I’m right but that the was the infamous night on the Sunday Game where Derek and Donal Og defended him going on about “the last vestiges of British colonialism in Ireland”.

I gave up on TSG after that night.

The fittest family is 4 or 5 years on the go now as a club fundraiser. Most recent one I heard of was in Longford rugby club of all places.

A fine wedge every time for Davy.

That wont happen

I did one last year. He does 11/12 of them a year.

Costs 18k to get him. In fairness he ran a good show and had about 10 people with him doing it as well as the cost of transporting all the equipment.

Do you think Rossiter will stay on? Who will go for it if he goes? Doyle, Ruth, Fortune.

David DOC O’Connor to put his money where his mouth is

Isnt this James Sexton fella the one who came up with the idea but had to pitch it to Davy to get RTE involved. He owns a company called HIYA.They do a lot of Halloween/Xmas parties for some of the big factories in Raheen.A shannon man i think.

We cant go back to Davy lads, we are already a laughing stock ffs. Hard to know who will want it or should be approached but Tom Mullally might actually be a wise choice.

“Do ya know what? Wexford was the only county other than Clare that really felt like home for me. The people were so welcoming (so they were) and the supporters got behind me too (so they did). They knew they had to trust me and be patient with the lads. It’s not easy (so it’s not) coming in & trying to build a team & developing a few bits & pieces. If everyone just gives us a small bit of time to have a look at a few things & put a few things in place I think we can get these lads competitive again (so I do).”

This has to happen lads. We all know it (so we do).
