The great Declan Browne has retired from intercounty football after the loss to Clare at the weekend.
8 points wasn’t a bad tally for his last match and a fitting way for him to end his top level career.

Had the pleasure of seeing him in the flesh a few times in some great Division 2B battles with Wexford over the years.
An exceptional talent but perhaps not quite as sensational as the common perception.
His 5 points from play against Donegal in the qualifiers a few years back seems to have earned him iconic status but it hardly warranted the reaction it got.
That said he is a superb two-footed finisher and he would have graced any other county team.
