I donāt care what anybody says but I think @Cicero_Dandi has a point. Messi is an incredible individual player but he spurned 3 chances tonight to kill tie and when things go against his side he rarely inspires his team mates to reach new levels. He isnāt a leader of men In fact his team mates seem overawed by him or fearful of him. In the opening half it was Vidal trying to grab the thing by the scruff of the neck. His team mates whether it be Barcelona or Argentina seem to regularly play within themselves around him.

Messiās peak was roughly 8 years ago. Heās still the best player in the world but heās nowhere near as good as he was back then
He has led Barcelona to the greatest times in their history so to say he inhibits his Barcelona teammates is completely wrong
His body language is horrible. You rarely see him encourage any of his teammates around him. Heās an incredible footballer but a leader of men he is not.
He was surrounded by truly great players back then. Now at his age in this team youād think heād at least encourage the lads around him but instead he often looks like heās sulking.
Heās not surrounded by great players anymore and heās still winning leagues most years and should have been in another CL Final after tonight if Dembele had taken the sitter Messi made for him at the end of the first leg or if Suarez had taken the chance Messi made for him tonight or if Jordi Alba had taken the chance Messi made for him tonight.
He was awful in the final 20 minutes and thinking he isnāt a leader is a valid opinion but to say heās inhibiting his teammates is wrong
