Does whiskey go off after its been open for a bit?

A bottle of Johnnie Walker red is $14 in the US, $26 in the UK, $35 in Ireland, and $45 in Norway… and people say the Scandinavian model is the one to follow.

All three of those countries have far bigger drinking problems than Norway… scandos way out in front again.

You were complaining about the cost of living for an average couple like yourself and precious yesterday and now you’re advocating paying more for your whiskey so junkies can have free needles?

Whiskey is a luxury.

Fuck up.

Got a bottle for €7 in Madrid about 4 years ago.

Agreed. I doubt Margaret Cash is sipping yellow spot.

Would you not treat yourself to a decent measure?

He’s 2/3s of the way through a bottle he got in Tesco yesterday in fairness.

I think the 3 swallow is 40 and the John’s lane 50 but there’s no sense to not buying the crested

Fair point

Those figures seem a bit better. John’s Lane is probably most Irish whiskey heads’ go to pot still. Like it fine myself but somehow I’m not as blown away by it as so many others.

Midweek.

Will be a big one tonight after a bad day with hiqa

Anyone got 2.5k burning a hole in their pocket?

@Malarkey would you be fond of the brandy?

I’ve never managed to get into it.

Having a few drops of the aldi stuff. Tis a grand soft whiskey.

Proper 12?

You can’t beat a drop of whiskey on a Friday night. I’m sipping away on a Jameson myself.

I just don’t like it.

I picked up a bottle of Crested in Tesco this evening on @HBV’s tip off
