Dolores O'Riordan, Nembo getting increasingly demented, fascinating to watch

Enya is worth 85m, Dolores O’Riordan was worth 20m

Do the math, even without gigging.

Enya doesn’t do concerts so not in the discussion.

The thrills were very good, would ye believe some Oirish people hated them due to their socio economic background and begrudged them for being successful.

Would you GTFO.

sold more records and was worth more. No argument on van the man either

Regardless of their wealth you cannot call an artist big if they never play a concert.
I am limiting the discussion to ROI artists, if you want to broaden it to British then the Beatles clearly win.

You’ve been beaten with facts like a ginger stepchild and now you’re moving the goalposts. Enya is Irish, end of

“So Much For The City” was a concept album about the angst accountancy graduates felt about a possible crash and their dreams of a high falutin’ job in London being shattered.

Any stats?

Pussy.

Nope, bigness in the music industry is determined by how many records you sell and how many concert tickets you sell.

Stats?

Cranberries fans were emo and goths.

I’m not arguing Enya is not from ROI you clown, I’m arguing that someone who literally nobody has seen live is not a big music artist.

So what?

Yeah cos 60m record sales doesn’t say that

Hyperbole and bluster.

You said the Undertones were bigger and have talked shite to cover up the fact that you are talking out your hoop. The Undertones sold a few albums in little England… The Cranberries were global.

Yes.

The Undertones were bigger with normal people. Cranberries were bigger with oddballs.

The Undertones had uplifting, enjoyable music. Cranberries had music which was depressing and a form of torture.

The Undetones sold albums to sane music fans, The Cranberries sold albums to goths and emo people.

When The Thrills appeared on The OC I knew that a new Ireland was secured. We weren’t there to be wailing about the Brits or bombs anymore, we were there as the backdrop to High School angst. Who knows if Dolores and Co. came around 10 years later it could have been them.

Good post. The OC was a great show. Sandy Cohen was a great man.

I’d say The Corrs are bigger than the Cranberries too, they are certainly a better band.

You’ve got nothing bro. You’re talking out both sides of your mouth and making yourself look twice the fool.

What would you know about normal people?
Oddball.
